FCC Opens the Floor for Comments on Spectrum Allocation

After several large companies, including T-Mobile and Motorola, have voiced concerns about the amount of wireless spectrum that is available to commercial service providers, the FCC has decided to explore the matter further. It noted that it wants "additional comment on the fundamental question of whether current spectrum allocations, including but not limited to the prime bands below 3.7 GHz, are adequate to support near- and longer-term demands of wireless broadband." The FCC has put forth several questions regarding the issue, and is seeking comments by October 23.

wireles for us all

I live with a metal exterior & must have wi/fi. The carriers that have the best(?) phones don't have their towers near me, where I travel ,same, no towers. I firmly believe wi/fi_wireless spectrum should be manatory for us all. Yea some make us pay for it but what else is new.
So what do you think?

Unless I'm taking what you said the wrong way, that's a pretty effed up idea. I personally have no need at all for Wi-fi. (although it is convenient when I feel like running both my lap...

Are you talking about mandating wi-fi in all cell phones, mandating VOIP access on all handsets, or simply looking for a way to get indoor coverag...
