Verizon Wireless and Pantech today announced the Jest, a new quick messaging device. The Jest is a slider with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 2.6-inch display. The Jest has a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, stereo Bluetooth, and it has an optical mouse on the front for on-screen navigation. Other features include the ability to create personal icons and banners, Social Beat social networking software, VZ Navigator, and V CAST Music with Rhapsody. The Jest is available online starting today For $70 after mail-in rebate. It will be available in Verizon retail stores starting July 5.

Judging by the picture showing only 1x signal, and as the model number indicates this falls in the txt line after the blitz and the razzle, neither of which picked up 3G signal, all signs point to no data plan requirement for this device. It'll be nic...

Correct me if I'm wrong but this looks almost identical to the Samsung Reclaim for Sprint. Cudos to Pantech for being so original... 🤣
