in august i am available for a credit class upgrade. i want to add a third line and i already own the equipment. is there anyway to add a line at that time with no contract? the phone is for my best friend who is running out of minutes on her pre-pay and has no extra cash cause she is putting herself thru college including a trip to japan in the spring.
which means i don't need the line for more than 7 or 8 months.
any ideas?

for an additional $10 a month you can get the sprint basic plan without a contract, its $29.99 for 200 minutes night and weekends start at 9pm on this plan with no mobile to mobile or roaming included. if you want to add those its an additional $5 per feature. sooo basically you'd be paying $50 a month for 200 mins with unlimited n&w at 7pm.

yeh not quite what i want. she hardly uses any minutes, but i just want to have her share minutes. i don't have the money for a whole other plan. besides i need to look into international calling for that line as well.
thanks anyway, i'll prolly end up signing a contract for it and living with it. who knows maybe my 9yo will want it when my friend is done... yeh right. 9yo's don't need cell phones, lol.
...
prolly best to do that, its only $10 for the 3rd line to share your minutes and an additional $8 for international calling. keep in mind that this is just a deep discount on international minutes, they dont come out of your bucket of minutes, so it can be pretty pricey if you plan on using it alot.

hey at least these days Sprint pro-rates its early termination fee so the closer you are to contract end, the less money you pay for breaking it.
WHATEVER you do dont activate a new line with an old handset!!! At least get a free phone or really any other. You could sell it on ebay or keep it as backup. You would get the free phone then activate the old handset you already own, thus keeping a new phone. After all, the "free" phones are ONLY free when you sign a contract, otherwise they are 150+.
...
does sprint pro-rate ETFs for existing custies or just for new ones??
...
Contracts are not being pro-rated at this time. It is not in the system and thus not being done.

i do know how much phones cost, silly, i sell them. but i'm in an affiliate market working for the affiliate that owns the towers, so there are somethings i know corp can do that i can't. just checking if they can do no contract lines or not. oh well.
yeh if i have to sign a contract darn right i'm getting a new phone. prolly the katana lx. she doesn't need much in the way of features, just something conveniant. altho if we still have 3200's around then prolly that. it's more phone like and less like a shiny mirror....
...
yeh. at this point on her prepay she uses it very little. just enough to contact her friend and ask him to log onto his yahoo. lol. she is not a phone person, really, so i don't suspect it will be much for than that.
thanks for the help ^_^
