What do you think of the samsung slider, the m520 that sprint has. I saw a picture of it in a store window today and it looks kinda nice. Although I have always had problems with the volume on samsungs in the past.

Also, my friend has a Blackberry Pearl and he likes it. Whats your opinion on that phone?

If anyone else has any opinions let me know. If sprint doesnt have anything better by Nov. thats gonna be my choices.

Have you thought of the Instinct? A little cheaper phone compared to the Pearl.

You could also consider the Curve. The Pearl doesn't have the full QWERTY keyboard; Curve has. Same price, same features.

I really don't care for the Pearl's small frame, candy-bar form factor. Plus, I'm not too fond of the keyboard.

I hated my pearl, I had it for two days and felt sick to my stomach when I was trying to text, I actually threw the phone several times, (I NEVER throw phones)

Try a Touch if you have the money, I have some apps that might make it a little more fun plus Rev.A and WM6.1 this month

I seriously doubt homeslice would like the HTC Touch. homeslice's only request is mp3 and text. You and I know the HTC Touch isn't the best text messaging device.

I didn't read about the whole text thing until later, yeah it's not the best until you get the transcriber down. And it's not completly bulky, but I switched from a mogul.

Homeslice,

I have the samsung m520, it's good for music and text, the pic is good i will not argue about that... the sliding factor is neat... BUT it is uncomfortable when you put it on your ear

the pearl... I had it and immediately returned the phone. the keypad is awkward and complicated... i didn't bother to try to learn how to use it.

other than that since you are recommending a slim phone for music and text... the muziq would probably best. it's easy to use.

another phone i would recommend for you to consider is samsung ace... i really don't know any issues with the phone... but as far as the camera it's a 2.0 pix camera, has full qwerty, slim and has all the media gadgets (tv, etc)

Why does everyone that "hates" the pearl admittedly not know how to use it.

Seriously, it takes all of 30 seconds to figure it out, and the benefits are huge compared to an ace, mogul, touch, etc.
I guess you could get a curve, if you could find one,if youre just that resistant to learning something new.
