Cancelling after renewing?

I renewed my contract around 15-20 days ago and bought a new phone. I was told I had 30 days to return it and cancel with no ETF since I was renewing.

For the last week I've been thinking of cancelling my Sprint account. I talked to someone from Sprint a few days ago. They told me that since I renewed I had up to the 30 days to cancel and have no ETF. But now I'm being told I will be charged the ETF and only those that start a new account can cancel within the 30 days with no ETF.

What do I do? I feel like I'm getting the run around. Some saying no ETF others saying yes. Getting a bit ticked.

If you return your upgrade, your contract will be reset to its original term (as long as you return within 30 days). Your original contract will determine if you have an ETF or not.

If you upgraded at 22 months, then you would have 2 more months to go before the ETF would not apply.

Why were you thinking about cancelling your service? Maybe I can help.

(I know the sn says ATTGuy, but I am a Sprint rep now)

Just find it odd two different people said I could cancel with no ETF. But as of today I'm told I will be charged even tho the 30 days aren't up.

One thing I'm tired of is the billing problems, even if it is a few dollars. This happens every month. I get a free ringtone, I get charged for it. I got billed roaming one month when I had the roaming plan plus I never went anywhere that month that would be considered roaming. Then when I renewed my contract I was told by the lady that if I would renew right then she'd take $25 off my next bill. Got my next bill and guess what, no $25 taken off.

I noticed lately the signal hasn't been that great either, since I renewed and I tested on two different phones. The other day I could make c...

attguy was correct, you have 30 days to return the phone. as long as you return the phone within that time frame your contract will revert back to the ORIGINAL time. so if you still had 2 months left on your contract, then you will STILL have two months on your contract when you return the phone. maybe the guys you spoke with didnt ask the right questions to find out if you were out of your contract before you actually renewed or not. sorry to see you go but then again thats why you have the 30 days, just make sure you ASK someone when the date of your original contract terminates before you cancel.

Now that I think about it I believe my original contract ended a while ago. They gave me so much off my monthly bills for being with them for 2 years. But no matter what I'm not happy at all with the run around they've given my about if I'd owe a ETF or not.

๐Ÿ‘€ you do realize that any offers off monthly bills = you signing another contract right? so think back to when you were told...

" ๐Ÿ˜ณ oh, i see youve been with us for XX amount of years, would you like to receive and additional %10 off of your monthy recurring bill? ๐Ÿคจ "

"i sure would! ๐Ÿ˜ thanks ๐Ÿ˜‰ !"

you hear faint clicking in the background...

hummm what is he/she doing? ๐Ÿคจ

one sec sir while i notate the account ๐Ÿ˜

he/she was placing in notes that...
"cust accepted %10 off mrc for contract renewal"

you might wanna check into that...

Uhhh, that sounds a bit dirty to me. When I first heard about the 10% off I emailed Sprints billing and just asked about it. They wrote back saying they went ahead and added that for me. Not once do I recall them saying "This renews your contract with us." Just can't recall how far back it was the 10% off got added.

I really am sorry that you are frustrated with your billing errors, but in the same respect I would not switch carriers due to that reason, because EVERY carrier has billing errors. Thats pretty much industry standard.

I will agree that Sprint Customer Service can be frustrating, that is why I reccomend to all of my customers that they bring their problems to me and I will hammer them out. If you have a Sales Rep that you feel comfortable with in your area you may want to see if they can fix your issues. It is generally better to rely on a sales rep in my opinion due to the fact that many CS reps dont know what they are talking about (NOT ALL CS REPS!!!) where as Sales Reps know exactly what we are talking about because our paychecks rely...

Yes every carrier might have billing errors but every month? I know a handful of people that are with different carriers and I have only once heard one of them complain about billing errors. My friend was over charged on her first month with her carrier and hasn't happened since.

My sister is with Sprint/Nextel and she complains how much she dislike them. But the other people that are with others, can't recall one time they said they disliked their carrier.

As for my phone I have a MOTO Q9c. My brother had one of the Qs and he never complained about a weak signal with his carrier.

In everyone of your posts you list more reasons why you continue to complain about the service and have not once hinted at the idea of receiving help, so it sounds to me like your mind is made up.

Good luck with your new carrier.
