OK, so alot of people complain on this board about sprint, i've had sprint for a while now and i never really had major problems, yeah there are some issues here and there, but what company doesn't have any issues. if you scroll thorugh the ATT and verizon forums, you can see the same complaints. all you trolls that come on here and bash sprint, what other company gives you all you get for so cheap. i have 750 min, unlimited data, and only pay about 50 a month. not att, certainly not verizon. verizon rips off their customers, i don't know much about att, but i can tell you they drop as much calls or more than sprint, my gf has att and she drops calls all the time. verizon charges you for everything, one of my friends has a blackberry and pay...

I had Sprint for about 6 years before I decided to make a switch. Now I am deciding between going back and Verizon. I found some of my old Sprint bills and I really do miss the prices 🙂 I really never had a problem with Sprint. I just think that they went downhill when they brought Nextel. Just my opinion.

I've used every major carrier but AT&T, (In my area, as bad as T-mobile) and have had the least amount of problems with them, that's one of the reasons that I work for them. I really do believe in Sprint and love their huge data network. I can understand they don't work in some area, but so does everyone else.
People ask me which carrier is the best, I can't answer that, it's which ever works the best for you. For me, Sprint.

well said, it is what work for the customer and for me it sprint as well. I have never had any dropped calls, or problems with my bill just their customer service, but if you know how to talk to people and not loose your cool. you can get somewhere with them.

Speaking of "their huge data network," who has the fastest data network in Orange County, CA? VZW or Sprint?
I am currently on VZW for my data card (month-to-month) and cell phone. Cell phone is great, but the data card speed is low (it's an old EVDO card...and it is dying).
I want to get a USB data card, and I am trying to decide whether to stay with VZW for data or switch to Sprint. My wife has Spring cell service with no problems here.
So, how good is Sprint data vs. VZW in Orange County, CA?
Thank you!

And while we're at it, what is the fastest Sprint data "card"? I have USB 2.0 and PCMCIA/CardBus slot.

If you're looking for a versetile equipment, I suggest you get the Compass 597. It's a USB type. If you're looking for the card itself, with your PCMCIA slot, I suggest you get the Aircard 595. By the way, we have a special for the Compass, $49.99 for a 2 year contract. 😁

In the VZW and Sprint forums, I asked "Who has the fastest data network in Orange County, CA? VZW or Sprint?"
So far, the folks in VZW claim that VZW's Rev A network is faster than Sprint's Rev A network, which is to be expected.
Do you know of any site that has unbiased testing of both providers' Rev A data networks?
The USB device you mentioned is one I had looked at on line. If I switch from VZW to Sprint for data, that's the one I'll get.
Who has the largest Rev A (non-roaming) network, VZW or Sprint? Looking at each providers' coverage maps, it looks as though VZW beats Sprint for Rev A coverage.

...
ok, as of 1/08 sprint has more coverage than verizon. data is as shows
coverage
square miles - cities - airports
sprint - 642,935 - 1,297 - 13,337
verizon- 578,938 - 1,263 - 12,835
att(hsdpa)- 86,663 - 411 - 4,668
sprints rev a speed is avg 350-500Kbps peak 1.8Mbps upload
avg 600Kbps-1.4Mbps peak 3.1Mbps download
...
Is that last line VZW's specs? If so, then Sprint has a slightly larger network, but VZW beats them for speed.
Is that correct?

look at my second, post it has verizon specs first and sprint specs second.

verizon....
The company’s flagship business data service, BroadbandAccess, will run faster and more efficiently with the new EV-DO Rev. A network enhancements than with its predecessors. Customers in EV-DO Rev. A coverage areas can take advantage of upload speeds that are five to six times faster than that of the company’s existing EV-DO network, while interacting with Web-based applications with improved latency for a better customer experience. For example, BroadbandAccess customers in EV-DO Rev. A coverage areas can expect average download speeds of 450-800 kilobits per second (kbps) and average upload speeds of 300-400 kbps. In Rev. A coverage areas, customers can download a 1 Megabyte e-mail attachment—¢the equi...

Alot of ppl feel that way that it wasn't a good idea when sprint bought nextel. I had two friends who worked for sprint that left bc of that.

I LIKE DOUGHNUTS... 🤤

Yeah I had Sprint, when they merged with Nextel, never had a problem, well when our contract went out, we switched to VZW(cuz my brother practically begged my mom) I still have the bills as proof that we were paying 50-100 dollars less a month for Sprint, and I liked it better. So now that we're all on our own accounts(I have AT&T, and my brother has USCC) he still says he had problems with Sprint even though I never did. I actually got better service with Sprint then I do with AT&T, and my bill was about 15 dollars cheaper a month. So looking back, I dont know why we switched, I really do like Sprint, and will continue too(I have a really really good paycheck coming up; might switch to them again). I mean don't get me wrong I still like AT&...
