Wifi vs Sprint Browsing
If you have an 802.11g 54Mbps wireless access point connecting to your WiFi phone at 54Mbps (theoretically), and the access point is connected to a lousy DSL line at 384Kbps, then Rev A EVDO and the WiFi would be about the same speed. EVDO Rev A may be even faster.
On the other hand, if the WiFi access point were connected to a 10Mbps cable or fiber Internet service, then the WiFi would blow the doors off of the EVDO network. If the WiFi connection is hooked to anything above a T1 line (1.544Mbps), then it is going to be faster than EVDO, especially for uploads.

Some people think "WiFi" or "broadband" is a speed rating, and they do not understand that they are just types of technologies, not speeds. "Broadband speed" is a misnomer.
