Nextel to Sprint service

My company signed up with Nextel service a few years ago. Mainly for the direct connect feature. The problem is every location we travel to we have no service. I mean, every single location I've been to I have no service with my Nextel phone. This is not an exaggeration. Every person here carries two phones, their business phone and a personal phone. I personally have my Nextel work phone and my Verizon personal phone. Every location I go to I have service with my Verizon phone but not with Nextel.

One of the people here spoke to a rep that said Sprint coverage is much better. We can get a Sprint phone with direct connect and better coverage. Would anyone be able to confirm this?

Thanks,
Chris

Make sure to get the Sanyo Pro series, that way you will have the ability to roam. If your rep gets duped into buying the "Powersource Phones" you will be a worse situation than before.

The Powersource phones lack the ability to roam, so you are operating on just Sprint's network, which is much broader than nextel however operates on a higher frequency causing the phone to get worse reception inside buildings and in valleys.

The Sanyo Pro will aleviate that as you can roam off of Verizon's towers, so in short any place that your Verizon Phone has coverage, so will your Sprint phone.
