Questions about data devices and plans

Hello!

I just canceled my VZW data card that I had for about 2.5 years. I used to use it every workday, but ever since I got my XV6800 with email pushing to it from my Exchange server, I do not have as much need for it, especially at $60/month.

I am considering moving to Sprint on the Compass 597 USB device, and I have two question areas. #1, I think I read somewhere that Sprint data devices can be forced to use only the EVDO network and not Sprint's lower-speed network (1xRTT?). On VZW in some areas, my card would connect to BroadbandAccess EVDO and then flip to a NationalAccess 1xRTT (much slower) connection at random. Can a Sprint device be forced to use only the faster EVDO (and Rev A) connections?

Actually, SERO *will* work. The voice plans are pretty much gone, but the data plan remained the same. That stays at $49.99
Compass 597 on $49.99 on the website! its a steal. but once again, you CAN setup SERO with thebroadband card.
