Southern Linc + Nextel?

Why doesnt Southern Linc step up to the plate and buyout NEXTEL? Perfect couple since they both use IDEN and Southern linc would be a bigger wireless co. They would probably do a better job handling Nextel than what Sprint is still trying to do with Nextel. This should have happened before Sprint went to merge with Nextel

Since Sprint sold 3300 iDEN/CDMA towers to TowerCo, and leases, don't think Southern Linc would want to buy iDEN towers. Southern Linc would be better leasing.

Sprint still owns the network not the towers. What he is saying is for them to buy sprints control of the IDEN network from Sprint and therefore would lease the towers as sprint is doing. At least that is what I got from him.
