I have sprint. I have the simply everything plan. I need a new phone. I don't want to extend my contract so I'm buying a phone outright. Price isn't really an issue, I strictly want some opinions.
I text 5000+ times per month. I need a phone that is easy to text with.
I have the LG Rumor. It wasn't bad but to be totally honest I didn't like the long travel for my thumbs on the QWERTY keyboard so I never used it.
I like flip phones but hate the flat molded keys that are associated with most flip (like RAZOR keys. This is due to my high text volume.
Of course call quality and bluetooth capabilities are a big deal, but I think most new phones are pretty good about it.
I use email but its just hotmail so no big. I hate blackberries.

too bad you hate blackberries, cause they are the most stable (won't power cycle or freeze like palm os and winmobile), the most durable (no touch screen to break), the most cost effective (sorry you don't want to sign a new contract), customizable (full html web browsing), device that sprint sells.

i work in a repair store and blackberries don't come in unless they are wet or their owners dog got ahold of them (maybe the occasional trackball or charging port failure)

Okay, both of the above weren't any help.

Get the LG Lotus.
-It's a flip with standout keys.
-Its QWERTY keyboard isn't as stretched out as the Rumor's, so you won't have the same problem you had with your current model.
-It carries Sprint's new OneClick platform, so it's a lot easier to navigate through the menus and find the features you use most. Also, OneClick gives you one-touch access to Google and your email client.
-A built-in MP3 player is included, plus a 2.0 megapixel camera w/video recorder and stereo Bluetooth, so you're not sacrificing any features your Rumor has.

Its so weird that you said that cuz since I decided to replace my Rumor I've been leaning towards the Lotus the whole time. My friend has one and loves it and the in-depth review that this site has was extremely helpful.
Thanks for the input.
Out of curiousity thought what are you basing your recomendation on?

I based it on my own experiences with it, and what my customers have said about it. It's become my best-selling Sprint phone 😁

What do you dislike about blackberries?

I'd probably steer you towards a BB Curve with the stuff you mentioned and listed.
