I am out of contract with Alltel and dont want to sign another contract but I also would like one of the newer Blackberries coming down the line with Sprint.

Alltel is not going to leave me out of contract either of course they are trying to get everyone signed up so we can all go to VZW so how am I going to do this now.

TIA

As long as you don't buy a new phone or accept a new contract, you should be fine to port over to Sprint when you're ready.

With a cell carrier, generally when you're out of contract, your service goes by the month and there is no more ETF. Just as long as one of their reps don't get ahould of and get you back in contract.

Alltel IS going to leave you out of contract unless you CHOOSE to sign a new one. By the way, I also want one of the new Blackberries coming to Sprint...in 4G 😲

😁 I never said 4G was going to be nationwide anytime soon. Of course typical test markets. I don't have a link because it hasn't been released. I won't say anything more about it if it bothers you that badly. 😉

Just sit back and relax. Avoid going to any stores (a slick sales person will try to upgrade you perhaps throwing in a free Curve or something. Good sales people are like jedi. You walk out of the store with a new phone, accessory bundle and FAT two year contract wondering how that happened). Seriously, there isn't any conspiracy. Millions of customers are out of contract and happy as long as their phone is operational. Now, don't drop your phone in the toilet and call in trying to get a free phone with no contract just because you've been an Alltel customer since '01 and everything will be cool. So, let's recap... Take care of your phone, do not accept any promotional offers (such as 1,000 bonus peak minutes for a year) and just sit ...
