Samsung M320 to replace Nokia 3588i...any good?

My wife has Sprint and has an old Nokia 3588i that is starting to have various problems. She is considering upgrading and recently received an email offer for the Samsung M320.

She only wants a phone and does not need Internet, pictures, etc, so those features are not a concern. How good is it as a phone?

We are in the Los Angeles area.

Yep that's about all the M320 does, it will also have a camera. I have seen a defect on about 1 out of 20 that the battery dies quick. It has been reported to Sprint Repair and Samsung to work on a fix for this.

yeah same impression here. however, for around $30, you could get a katana lx that is a much better quality

Oops! I think that is the one she was considering and not the M320. I remember her saying she liked it because it comes in pink.

So as far as using it as a phone, i.e., call quality, is it good?

Those old Nokia phones had awful menu sets and weren't the easiest to figure out to use, but they were great phones. Newer phones do a lot more, but for the basic function of being a phone it's hard to beat a good old Nokia 3588 or other phones of that era.

You're going to have to ditch it eventually due to it dying, just don't expect the next phone to make it to half the age of that one.

Well, it certainly has done an outstanding job so far. We are going to try a new battery first, then see if it still needs to trashed.

Batteries are cheap, and she is reluctant to give up the phone due to having a Nokia car kit with cradle for it.

The good part is that the kit is a wired and Bluetooth kit, so any new phone with BT will work, but not have the cradle for charging.
