Phone decision time

Iknownothing

I've had a sprint touch for the last two years and its time for me to upgrade my phone. I have loved the windows mobile professional platform but am considering other options as well.

I'm hoping a few blackberry fanboys will come on here and tell me whats so fantastic about a blackberry as opposed to a windows mobile phone. Please no hatin on the windows, thats not the point. I'm just considering the tour.

And if anyone knows if the touch hd or any variation is goint to show up soon that info would also be useful.

While we're at it feel free to comment on the pre.

Any thoughts or feelings would be much appreciated.

the Pre is awesome! and i personally LOVE the video quality of the Pre. I currently carry the Touch Pro and love it because it has all the features i need like PowerPoint, Adobe etc. Quick question, what is it you like about Windows Mobile? i take it you'll feel alot more comfortable with a physical keyboard plus much better screen quality. Rumors fly that were getting the HTC Hero running Android. definately a sweet phone! but to better help you out, what features are you mainly looking for? I had the HTC Touch as well and i gotta tell you, these newer phones run MUCH faster and have less lag than the Touch. Definately let me know what youre looking for to help you narrow it down further. Looking forward to your reply. Best regards,

First off thanks for responding. It seems no sooner did I ask than there is a story on the frontpage about the touch pro 2, so that is encouraging.

I like windows mobile for the following reasons. I find the os intuitive. And some of the applications are phenomenal. I enjoy using skyfire quite a bit and opera 9.5 with flashlight plugin is honestly nearly as good. It is excellent at multitasking which I utilize quite a bit. What is going against it is the os is aging, its "niceness factor" in terms of graphics etc is far below something like an android phone or the pre. On other hand I'm kind of jonesing for something new.

As far as the pre goes I think the os has a lot of potential but I really kind of hate the industrial design....

I love my touch pro and have recently switch to sprint for that reason. My advice would be to wait on the Touch Pro 2. I am. But I do love blackberrys as well but the Touch Pro 2 to me is better if you like watchin shows and texting on your phone. The browser is amazing as well !! Hope this helps 🙂

I can tell you that i do not like the Touch Pro. I am on my second one and i have a buddy that is now on his 6th device. The Keyboard either randomly stops working or the phone power cycles again randomly. There is a touch pro 2 coming out in September and also rumored to be a new instinct coming out same time.

I heard the new instinct might be an android device. Which I might look into. I'm really only interested in smartphones so if its the same type of thing as the previous two then that's a no go.

Yeah, my girlfriend is going on her 3rd touch pro. no bueno. Plus I dont want to get a phone who's replacement should be out any day.

It says September 9th... i would look for it around then. September 8th is a Tuesday so i would look for them on a Sunday as usual. Either September 2nd or September 16th. I dont have any other information other than "launch date."
