Serious Design Flaw on 8530 - Pics Included

Ok everyone, so here are pics of my actual phone, just 5 days old. Pay attention to the border between the keyboard and the function buttons. The screen is completely lifting off. The glue holding the screen down has failed.

Now, what is the reason? Is it because there is additional stress on the adhesive because the buttons are being pressed and the screen flexes? If so, that is a serious design flaw that will occur again and again as the adhesive weakens every time a navigation button is pressed.

You should be able to see the light coming out from inside the phone in the last two pictures. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Wow, is no one out there using this phone?

Is no one out there even interested in this phone?

I have the 8530 as well, and I don't have this problem on mine...yet. It does have some slight lifting but not to much. I have had however constant freezing issues and the optical trackpad isn't really aligned right and has frozen up as well. I may end up trading in my phone for something else considering I'm still in my 30 day window. I know this may not help much, but you might just want to exchange it or go with another device.

Hey stargrl78, thanks for responding. All information helps.

I am seriously considering trading it in for the Tour. I originally did this 8530 because it was only 49.99 instead of the 149.99 for the Tour, but now, reliability and quality seem like it is worth stepping up to the Tour.

The biggest advantage of the 8530 are WiFi and Trackpad. I don't really care about Wifi, since usually I have a computer with me wherever there is WiFi.

The Trackpad, however, does mean a lot to me. I hate the track ball. Unforunately, I don't think the Tour2 is coming out within my 30 day exchange window...

Keep the reviews coming people!

I was also hoping the Tour 2 would be out before my 30 days were up, but just don't see that happening. I think I'm going to go with the Pre. My husband started with that phone, then saw his friends Moment and practically fell in love with it. He's seriously obsessed with that phone 🙄. But I really liked his Pre, so I'm hoping it works out ok for me. It really is a nice phone, just hoping the hardware stays solid.

Hope the Tour works for you, a friend of mine has one and he hasn't had any issues with his. Says it works great.
