Does anyone know when the new sprint-Nextel phone will be comming out...
...
after the merger closes. and its nextel-sprint phones. not just one phone.
hope that helps...
...
once the merdger goes threw then they will begin the long and teadious process of meardgeing nextels network over to sprints network. nextels network will continued to be operated for several years. however the new company (i am cusrious to know if there will be any name chage at all.) will begin to affer select phones that will be compatable on both networks.
the main focus of those newhandsets will be for the existing nextel customers who wish to be able to tace advanatge of the expanded voice coverage that sprint offers.
it is my oppenion the majority of consumers will be unaffected with these new handsets. they will be both pricey and not nearly as cool as the sprint phones.
...
dual mode phones my friend.
...
But does that mean that he sprint phones that are currently out are going to have to be re flashed inorder to reconize nextel's towers/band or does that mean that everyone is going to have to get a new phone both sprint and nextel customers? Also if i get a sprint phone now such as the 7400 will it be up to date when the merger does fall through? Lastly, what about the Ready-link/push to talk services that each company already has. With sprint you have to pay $10 for usage but for nextel you don't, does that mean that all of the people with nextel are going to have to pay 10 dollars inorder to get a service that they already have or will they get it for free?

you would have to get a new phone as of right now, till the merger gets oked and motorola, qualcomm, and nextel starts to work on those dual mode chips and phones.
"Also if i get a sprint phone now such as the 7400 will it be up to date when the merger does fall through?"
what do you mean up to date?

Do you know of a web site that i could look at of the new sprint phones that will be comming out this year or quarter? I thought the merger will be falling through Q2 which means that they should have a phone out by christmas atleast or sooner no?
...
no. i dont know any web sites, sorry. you could try howardforums.com but sometimes they are wrong with what they say or late with what they say.
the merger was an agreement, however, by law sprint and nextel are competitors till the fcc/ftc/sec and shareholders approve it, or till the agreement of transformation of ownership has been oked. the merger should be approved by q3 maybe q4 of 2005. we should see some phones right after the merger gets closed, however, i cant disclose that information. all i can say is that there will be dual mode phones cdma/iden.
any questions just ask 🙂
...
Will the phones look better than how it looks right now. Have you seen how the phone will look.
...
for both questions... yes...
...
So please tell us a little some type of information. thanks if you can.
...
i cant, sorry. just stay tuned. sorry. they do look good though.
...
Does this mean that the sprint customers will have to get a new phoone or will it just be a simple flash of software?
...
yes. most likely they have to get a new phone. i am sure that there will be some rebates and things like that, however, i cant give a 100 percent answer on that as of right now.
...
Will speakerphone be a standard for Srint phones after the merger, or will they continue to make phones as they do now. (With or without speakerphone)
...
i cant speculate on what will come out, but my opinion is that speakerphones would be the standard after the merger.
...
what do you mean "that speakerphones would be the standard after the merger"
...
its common sense. i said that my opinion would be that speakerphones (that are on the phones) might be the standard after the merger. i dont get how you dont get it.
...
If i can try to clear it up nextel18 is saying that like nextel phones now they all have speakerphone to take advantage of the walkie-talkie option. After the merger this may be a standard on most or all of the future phones made for Sprint as Sprint will have a better network to support its Ready-Link feature, and you can't use Ready-Link without a speakerphone. I hope that cleared it up a bit.
...
yea. that cleared it up.
...
Where have you seen these new phones? The teams that are a part of the merger haven't even made them yet! How do you get the advanced knowledge that hasn't even happened yet???
😕
...
scorpio girl.. guess what i am a scorpio too, but back to your questions. i have a lot of inside information and inside access with the combined companies. i cant disclose that information, however. the companies actually have been in discussion for a long time about dual phones, as well as they said it during their conferences at the merger announcment and at other investor conferences. it is happening. you just got to listen to those investor relations conferences.
...
I thought that I read in another post that you are a third party retailer? How is it that you get such wonderous "inside information and inside access with the combined companies"?!
🙄
...
incase you haven't noticed ghe just invents it.
my self i know a lot of people that acre actually in product development both at the sticlabs as well as sebu and they have not said one thing to support any thing nextel18 has said.
but i am with you scorpio i really think this is just some third party retail employee that just wants to sound important
...
i am not a third party retailer. i have ties to both companies. (corp ones) so you can think on that one. by the way your a scorpio- we are supposed to have common sense. use it. thanks.
...
so you do not actually work for eather company? you just have ties? cor ones? in otyher word you have friends that give you all this information and you misread the press releases and this is where yo9u get all your experties from?
...
come on steve. i already said things 100 times, i dont want to explain 101. sorry.
...
i guess you must be friends with john garcea or something that certanly would explain how you know so much about sprint
or maybe your neibors to len. over hin holbrook *l* i wish i had a dime for every time i heard that. sorry inside joke there i seriously doubt any one will get that one
...
