Wireless telecom provider Verizon (NYSE: VZ) has been trouncing AT&T (NYSE: T) for months in surveys of customer satisfaction and loyalty. It's about time Sprint improved their iDEN network. They might see a significant increase in satisfaction if they could keep the rather large Nextel customer base happy.

Evo4G is good, I hope it migrates a lot of Nextel customers over. When 4G is in my area, I'm so getting that phone.

The i1, Nextel's first touchscreen Android device which runs on the 2G iDEN network, comes out at the same time. BAD.

Optimized 2G speed. It will help, but it won't give customers anything close to the 3G/4G speeds that Sprint advertises. This will create misconceptions, as many customers on both Sprint and Nextel don't realize that there is a difference between the networks.

I can see it now;
Potential Customer: "I'm going to switch to Sprint for their lightning fast network speeds!"
Customer's Nextel friend: "Naw, they ain't that fast. Look how long it take my YouTube to load."
**Three minutes later**
Potential Customer: "Psh, forget that, I'm sticking with my iPhone. I don't care if I keep dropping calls, Sprint's network is too slow!"
