Just released info on 7/15/2010 Premier Status Benefits change in the following ways:
1) Upgrade activation fee on premier line will only be waived if upgrade done through Sprint.com. Fee will not be waived otherwise unlike currently.
2) 25% discount will now be available through telesales as well as Retail Location (where right now only in Retail Location) but it will require a minimum of 2 accessories to get the 25% discount.
All else remains the same, including the criteria to qualify.
...
One positive though; the free upgrade applies to any upgradeable phone on a Premier account with the online purchase, instead of only being available for the early-upgrade 'main' line. Also, there are web-only discounts available for certain phone models, so taking this option opens the customer up to better deals than they could recieve in-store or over the phone.

The free upgrade applies to any phone upgraded online regardless of whether premier or not. So actually, no plus there.
...
Actually, that benefit was pulled several months back; online upgrades on normal account are charged the upgrade fee. Seeing as I recently upgraded online and was charged an upgrade fee, I would have to agree.
Shipping fees are waived online, though.
...
Ooh, nevermind that, I just found documents that say the upgrade is waived for online purchases... I'll be calling in about my upgrade fee now! ๐คค
...
Just dont come into the store when you want ready now or when Telesales screws up something like they usually do.
...
Excuse me? I was talking about online purchases. How can Telesales 'screw up' an online purchase that the customer does themselves?
As for the ReadyNow, if you're a store rep, it's called your job. Just to clarify. ๐
...
"I didn't get the sale commision, I'm not going to help the customer."
Atleast thats the attitude I'm getting from a lot of Sprint reps on this site these days.
Keep up the good CS guys. Way to win those customers back.
...
Wouldn't call either of those especially nasty. Nasty would be no more yearly upgrades!
...
just more proof that the premier program is garbage
...
you're kidding right? what other company let's you buy a phone and then 1 year later get a full rebate on it? (without groveling, threatening, hostage taking or swearing?)
I Love premier if only because I can get my EVO on day one.
...
ummm the competition will give you early upgrades for hot new devices, let you actually pre-order via their websites and get the phone weeks before it comes out and let you upgrade all your lines. Ive tried all 4 carriers and their premier programs are much better then sprints wannabe program.
...
...Sprint does all this while charging you a lot less than the competition.
...
you get what you pay for as they say
...
Which in no way explains why ATT is so darn expensive, does it?
...
with AT&T you get choices of devices and coverage same with Verizon.
...
and Tmobile can be cheaper becasue they are backed by one of the largest GSM carriers in the world plus they have access to a massive library of devices.
...
ATT's 3G coverage is terrible, seriously. Verizon and Sprint roam off of each other for CDMA coverage. All carriers have a selection of phones, and the others may have more available at any one time, but let's think about it; who needs 100 phones to choose from when they will only be using one for the next two years (Or, one year with Sprint's Premier program)?
...
Other carrier's premier programs? Please elaborate, I'd love to hear about them... ๐คจ
