Coming 04/01/2011, Sprint will be splitting their Premier program into two seperate tiers; 'Silver' and 'Gold'. Early upgrades will only be available to the 'Gold' tier.
When the new tiers take effect in April, current Premier customers who only qualify for Silver will immediately lose the one-year annual upgrade and will instead be switched to the 22 month upgrade.
This means that for future Premier Silver customers who have their upgrades now, use them or expect to have another 10 months added on to wait.
To clarify, the requirements for the new tiers are;
Silver - $69.99 Individual or $99.99 Shared plan over three months (current requirements)

It makes sense, though, because under current standards almost everybody can be a premier customer, so it takes a bit of the, ah, glamour to the title.

I just upgraded in November on a 1 year contract. Does that mean they can extend my 1 year contract to a 2 year or just that when I sign another one, I am no longer able to do 1 year contracts?
We are on a 129.99 business share plan which includes text, video, picture, data, any mobile any time, etc. for 4 lines.

If you are on a 12 month contract (and not just using annual upgrade) they cannot extend that to a 2 year contract.
This is for 2 year customers who used to qualify for annual upgrades.

This + the newly released information about all smartphones requiring the Premium Data charge = me taking a lot of garbage calls over the next couple weeks.

where my free fone? 😉
So if you took the training, can you tell me if this will do like the OP said, even if you HAD the upgrade you'll now lose it? or is it just from here on going out?
...
If you HAD it, it is lost.
...
For instance, if a soon-to-be Silver level customer bought a phone in March of 2010 they have exactly 1 month to use their annual upgrade, otherwise they lose it on April 1st.
I can see it now:
Cx: "Haha, April Fools. You got me...now send me the free phone."
Rep: "No. For real. Now GTFO my phone line so I can get a sale."
...
Your example there is my exact situation; Upgrade comes in March, and will be lost April 1st. Thinking of using it to get a free feature phone to avoid the new smartphone charge, if the need arises.
