or is call tones one of the best services sprint has ever offerred?

i just sold my old 660 to a sprint store for $50 yesterday, so i took a fresh look at the content catalog this morning, dnloaded and assigned a few call tones, told a few friends to call me, and when i called them back they were laughing so hard they were on the floor, crying!

few questions, though...
-does any1 know if it is possible to assign a call tone for people whom i dont know their number? as i was buying the call tones, the website asked me to assign one or more phone numbers for every call tone i dnloaded, is it possible that i could set it up so that future *potential* friends can hear a customized call tone, the first time they call me, *before* i can get ...

No, they will not last forever. Call Tones are not downloaded to your phone, so when the licence period expires (I believe it's 90 days), the call tone will be gone. You can re-purchase it, but it doesn't stay after the license. (Unlike ringtones and screensavers.)

-also, on an unrelated note, when i activated my brother's a620 (i know) on my line and accessed the content manager, i saw a game that i had paid for about a year ago to dnload to my 660...did i pay for it again when i re-dnloaded it, even though it said *purchased* when i did it?

If the game has an unlimited license, it can be downloaded without purchasing again. I still have games I purchased back when 1xrtt first launched that I have downloaded for free as recently as 2 months ago. If the game does not have an unlimited licence, it will be automatically removed from your content manager as soon as the license period is over.

so the fact that it is still in my content manager a year after i paid for it means that i could dnload it to my new phone for free?

Yes. You can download out of your content manager as much as you want without paying again. It's when you download from the regular Content Catalog that you'll be charged again.

thank you for your info, you've been most helpful, and i completely understand everything you said

although, being a stickler for symantics, i feel compelled to say that i thought that content cannot be dnloaded directly from the content catalog...i thought it had to be moved from the content catalog into your content manager in order for downloading to be possible. and your pcs acct gets billed as soon as the content is moved...

(inherently answered question-please correct if wrong)
-is it possible to dnload content directly from the content catalog?
-no, because that would overlook the billing process, making the content "free", or, more acurately, "stolen" or "pirated" (i.e. "illegal")

It really depends on where you are purchasing the item from (via a PC, or via your phone). You can download from either the Content Manger or the Content Catalog from the phone.

While browsing through the content catalog on your phone, when you select "BUY," you are redirected to a new page that will give you the "Download" option. You are still actually in the Content Catalog at that point. Selecting "BUY" initiates the billing system to charge your account and also place the link for the item into your content manager. You don't get the option to "Download" until you have selected "BUY."

If you choose not to download at that time, at any time during the license period you can access the Content Manager to download said purchased i...

from my perspective, both the phone and the pc versions of the content manager/content catalog work the same, except that ther is no way to preview the content in the content catclog if you're viewing it from your phone
