FYI, Forbes and DB always have hated Nextel, so what they say no one takes into account. (With the overpaying statement)

Sorry.

Anyway, to your point that you mentioned that the affiliates would be paid, well that is quite obvious and we have been saying that forever in our debates. Therefore, that is nothing new.

Not sure if you saw this... "The benefits of integrating Sprint-Nextel as well as the enhanced scale of the business leaves us with a positive outlook for the group.""

In addition, Nextel-sprint will have at least $12 billion in synergies plus a continued gain in free cash flow to continue to de-leverage their balance sheet. Therefore, that is a very good reason why many analysts and brokerage firms love the c...

So they titled the article "Nextel goes out with a bang" because they hate them?

Considering they aren't the only ones, just another one, that believes Sprint overpaid your theory of "player hating" just doesn't seem to make sense.

No that title was fine, but in general those 2 always have hated Nextel as well as sprint from their begging of their existence. I am just talking about what DB says about that Nextel was overpaid by sprint, which was the statement I was referring to.

With the second paragraph, the other companies all love Nextel-sprint and they said that they would be the most profitable wireless company in the industry because they are already raising their estimates on basically every metric.

You must have been reading a different article than I posted. No where did it say they would be the "most" profitable. It said they should do well, but most is putting words in their mouth.

NEXTEL has always been considered the bastard step-child of the wireless industry. This is due to some of their past business practices, such as; the way they put the mom and pop SMR's out of business, close ties with the FCC and having former FCC appointees in the board room, and the mess they caused in the spectrum (due to their close ties with the FCC) causing the re-location on public safety radio systems and getting 1.9GHz spectrum without going to competitive bid.
