wow, now I am happy I have a nextel account now. 4G, wow I will be bragging to everyone as they see me on a train ride to miami watching streaming movies from my phone. I just can not wait for this to happen. I know now I will be upgrading to a PDA phone when this comes into play.

what is funny is that some people are sleeping on this merger and underestimating it. These are two companies that did not have roaming agreements with one another and once they get things up and going, coverage will be awesome. Nextel and Sprint have alot under their sleeve it seems, 4G, Q-chat, whats next. I forsee them grabbing other carriers by the balls.

Trying to get market share, Cingular and Verizon have lately been cutting prices. The pricing strategy allowed the carriers, which rank No. 1 and No. 2 in terms of size, respectively, to add a record number of customers in the last quarter. But growth came at the expense of "revenue-per-subscriber," a measure of financial health that is closely watched by Wall Street.

Now that is some info that most ppl do not look at, I do not care how many customers you have, if you are not making enough money off of them you are not running a good business 🙂

Very true. It is all about arpu, data arpu and lifetime revenue per user and Nextel-sprint will lead either all of the categories or are leading them right now.

They are leading in arpu, not in data arpu, I don’t believe, and they lead in lifetime revenue per user. As you said, you need to make money on your subscribers to be a strong competitor. Look at their prepaid products, it will be great. I am very happy with tmobile’s prepaid business though.

I agree 100 percent with your assessments. People have been doubting Nextel and sprint ever since their existence, and now look at them. their wireless units continue to generate at least 400-500 million in net income per quarter, continue to get 1-2 million of subscriber growth per quarter, continue to lead the industry in many important metrics and have the best management in the industry.

4g; qchat; TV screens etc... I mean come on!!!
