i want to get a new phone (and my carrier is sprint) but i wanted to know will sprint work with/ be able to activate, any other phones besides the ones they have currently on their site or that they have had in the past, i guess what i mean to say is i want a new phone but none of the ones that sprint offers directly, so are there other phones out there that sprint doesn't sell, but work with the sprint network.

i think they can reprogram just about any CDMA phone, the question is... will they be "willing to"? even if they do you might be facing no warranty on the phone to begin with. not sure...

honestly, does anyone ever use their manufacturer's warranty on their mobile phone?

and really, if anyone out their can prove that their mobile phone is still in warranty, please let me know, because...

my brother used to work in the samsung tech support call center, and he would be the one to tell people whether or not their repair order would or wold not be "in-warranty"...he had the samsung warranty nearly memorized from reading it every day at work and do you know what he realized? take a look below, add 2 and 2, and see what you come up with:

My GOD some people are so ignorant. My samsung was manufactured in Korea not Texas!!! Plus there are two water indicator marks on wireless phones. One on the back of the phone when you take the battery off, and the other on the motherboard when the technician takes the phone apart. So if the 2nd water indicator mark has been bled through then there is no warranty on the phone. DUH!!!

I can tell you've been w/ Sprint for a while! Not a Verizon lover, but they call the one year manufacturers warranty, like most all companies, from the date of purchase. And I hear a lot of people swapping out their phones w/ in the warranty time period. With them, you just take it to a corporate location, and they swap it out. Get a clue!

Sprint will not allow any foreign ESNs onto their network - meaning if the phone isn't a Sprint phone... they won't activate it...
