WHY does Sprint have analog roaming protection built into all its phones? I had Sprint awhile back, and no disrespect it did suck.... coverage, cust svc.... you name it! I analoged roamed everywhere I went... just makes you wonder huh? P.S. No one use the all digital models as an excuse, because your the ones if ever traveling will really be screwed!!!!!!! It's all love though 😁

all phones have this types of roaming protection. verizon, cingular, t-mob. it is a standard feature. it keeps your phone locked onto one network.

i know for a fact tmob and verizon have this feature. and so does bell canada, and fido. those are all of the wirless services i have had.

and i do believe you if you say cingular does not. this would explain about why i have heard so many storeis of cingular customer being charged for roaming when their phone did not even say they were in roaming... NEXT!!!!!!!!!! 😳

Wow, If you "analoged roamed everywhere you went" you must lead a pretty sheltered life. You must either live and travel in only the tiniest of backwoods towns or you're telling a lil white lie, exaggerating a bit to make your story more interesting.

IF YOU HAVE YOUR SPRINT PHONE ROAMING MODE SET ON AUTOMATIC, IT'S GOIN TO LOOK FOR THE STRONGEST SIGNAL OUT THERE, WHETHER IT BE NEXTEL CINGULAR VERIZON ETC...YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE IT SET TO "SPRINT ONLY" AND ONLY SWITCH IT TO AUTOMATIC IF YOU NEED TO MAKE A CALL AND DON'T HAVE SERVICE...

OK, I don't know where to begin w/ my response... You do know that there is not a phone that sprint offers that will allow you to roam on Cingular or Nextel's network, right? CDMA ONLY!

Now why would I do that? Deny myself coverage when a call is needed to be placed? Kinda defeats the purpose of having a cell phone.

You ask "Fanboy...does your beloved Cingular have analog service?" like it's something to be admired! Doesnt matter however it'll be gone in a couple of years?

I never roamed once on my Sprint phone.. But I know there are plenty of areas were I would. No carrier has 100% coverage.

My phone is set on "Sprint PCS" only. That way I am assured I am not roaming.. I think it is a GOOD option for those people who don't want roaming charges.

Sorry you had such bad luck with your Sprint service.. but not everyone has the same trouble as you do..
