I went to the sprint store to have my 4500 checked for redialing and poor reception issues, they told me that indeed they found a problem and I would get one straight from the manufaturer on saturday since it is still under warranty. My problem is that this will be my fourth 4500 with the same problems, once replaced by lockline and twice under warranty. Now I dont want to scam sprint I just want a reliable phone, so anybody in this forum know what I can do to maybe get sprint to give me a diffrent model, I would even take a downgrade as long as the reception is good. I mean isnt a cell phones primary function to talk. anyway any help would be appreciated.

Um...maybe you should try a phone that isn't severely out of date. The sanyo 4500 hasn't been in production since around 1999. Try the 4920, or wait on the 4930, since the 4920 is old as dirt as well. That should take care of the problem. Unless you just put in the wrong model number, in which case I need to know the correct one.

thanks stevelvl I indeed have the vm 4500 or in other words the 5500, (I dont know why they did that)the problem is that I guess after reading a bit those phones came out defective in the first place supposedly they fixed the problem after the first run but I keep getting the same results phone after phone, Would sanyo be willing to give me a different phone. or am I stuck with this phone until I get my rebate again so I can purchase something new. Since it is coming Saturday I may hold on and see what the future holds lots of promising new phones.

This phone was brand new in 2004. I got it when it first came out, and it had many problems with it dropping calls and losing signal. Since I had gotten mine at Radio Shack, the store manager replaced it with the 8200 when it came out. But that was much easier to do then, because the 4500 was not discontinued ye...
