Do you have to log in/out of network with EVDO phone?

Is it like 1xRTT in that it's not an always-on connection like GPRS?

Do you mean needing to dial #777? I can't speak to standard handsets but the 6700 I demo'd did need to "dial in" to connect to the network. Not a big deal really once connected it stays connected.
