Sprint Boasts 3G Coverage In 141 Markets

After getting the a940 I am proud to report, ironically, that Sprint's EV-DO coverage map is way out of date. I initially activated my phone when I was in Leominster (near Fitchburg), MA. On their coverage map, Leominster was still "Future service area" but Power Vision was working beautifully for me. On the way to Worcester, I-190 is a stretch of just regular Vision. Getting to Worcester, I was back in business. For a large city, I was happy that my multimedia wasn't buffering and the quality was excellent.

Later on, I travelled to Cambridge. I had Power Vision service along the whole stretch of I-90 which wasn't even listed as Future Coverage on Sprint's map. Getting into Cambridge (via I-95 and then Rt. 2), I was still connected. The ...

FWIW, when I followed the links here for the EV-D0 map, I found it reported as "future" coverage. When I went to sprints website, and found the "power vision" coverage map, it does show coverage. Which jives with what the reps told me at the sprint store about EV-D0 being available here....
