Been there, tried that. Doesn't always work. The regular reps catch on too easily when you specifically say 'retention'. They know you're up to something and so sometimes refuse to transfer.
Not that I've had a major problem myself. It was for my dad who was switching and hoping to get some kind of deal that would've changed his mind.
