What exactly does a PRL update do for your phone?

Preferred Roaming list. It allows your ph to properly select the carrier for you to roam off of should you not be on your own service providers network!

How do you get someone who will flag your account to update it?

I have read that you can call in and get your account flagged since Sprint does not push out the update automatically, but everytime I call the representative tells me I have the latest version available.

They can not say what version I have or what is the latest version out, but they assure me I have the lastest version. I read that this happens to alot of people.

I have version 10026, but I read that 10029 was available awhile ago.

Help!

I'd rather not post it.

I was just wondering if there was something specific I had to say or a different number I could call.

Well I just tried again and got someone who told me I should say "PRL Update" to automatic system, to which I replied that's what I had said to get him in the first place.

He then said he would transfer me to the appropriate people after I had been on hold for eight minutes. After being transferred I was told my wait time would be about thirty minutes so I discontinued my call.

I was making the call from my cell and am not trying to burn up my minutes, is there a toll free number I can call from a regular phone?

*2 doesn't use your minutes but a toll free number you can try is 1-877-349-4413.

Vzw uses *228 option 2 and it does the update automatically. I'm sure Sprint has something similiar. Any sprint reps. with input on what this # would be???

I will keep trying then. I had read others had similiar problems but kept calling and eventually found someone who would do it.

Thanks!

I wish I could give it to you.

Just tried again unsuccessfully. This time the representative told me I just need to say "PRL Update" at the prompt and it will happen. I told her that is exactly what I had said, and that I was directed to "Upgrades" and then chose "representative". After getting my number and info, she told me that I did not need an update.

This is becoming frustrating, I remember now why I gave up last time.

Finally, I called the 877 number and spoke to someone who understood. They spoke English fluently as well, something I have yet to hear from *2.

I called back to nicely tell the representative that I found it unacceptable all the prior reps I had spoken to had said I was "up to date" when in fact I was not, and that I would appreciate it if he could take some kind of appropriate action.

Thanks for the help.

Ps. Tell your bosses - getting a PRL update flag sucks 🤣
