Simple question: Coming to Sprint from T-Mobile, should I get the Blade by Samsung or the MM-7500 by Sanyo. Thanks!

I'd rather have the 7500. I'm not too impressed w/ the blade. It's ok but I've been more satisfied w/ sanyo's.

I would like the Blade more. The screen is larger, the phone is thinner, but a bit wider. It only has 50 MB of internal memory.

The 7500 is small, but a nice phone. It has 70 MB of internal memory.

I just bought the A920 by Samsung. Great phone. I would have gotton the Blade, but it doesn't have removable memory. Plus the A920 is cheaper! You can get it for $150 with a new activation. 😁

Hope this helped.

This does help. I wanted the A920, but I was not too partial to the dark blue color. I had the RAZR with T-Mobile, and it was a little big for me (is that redundant). I am leaning towards the Sanyo 7500 just in part because I have kids who like to play with their parents toys, and the rubber that surrounds it might make it last a little longer.

Does anyone know if the Ready Link function will ever be compatible with Direct Connect on the Nextel side?

well i like the sanyo 9000 it has everything except bluetooth and removable memory but as for readylink direct connect the only thing as of now in development is another phone that works on both networks so it can do readylink and direct connect but as far as previous phones they will not work

They are planning on making phone that understand IDEN/CDMA. When those come out (projected release: late 2006/mid 2007) you will be able to direct connect between the two networks. They are planning on running like that for a few years, while they prepare to convert the IDEN towers to CDMA. Starting around 2008-2009 they will do just that.

Eventually everybody on Nextel will be using CDMA. I say good. I hate Nextel.

I would probably go with the 7500. Proven design, very rugged. even though the 900 is a cool and very popular, the thin design of the phone is a little questionable to me. from my understanding, the Razr has issues, esp with the screen breaking when you drop it. I would choose the 7500

Thanks. I did choose to go with the Sanyo 7500, the Sprint store here in Augusta did not have them in so they gave me a free Sanyp to use until next week. It really came down to the Bluetooth factor, but I will never use that so the Sanyo just makes more sense, especially in terms of ruggedness, for the long term. Or at least until I get sick of it in 6 months!
