they do not charge for the ESN swap. you just call CS and ask to change phones and they will guide you through it. After that is all done it can take probily up to 20 mins for everything to work perfect on your phone.

cheers 😎

I am pretty sure there is not fee to change your ESN. Although it takes up to 2 hours for voice calls to work. And up to 4 for voicemail, web, and other data services to be fully provisioned.

Hmmmmm. I know Verizon charges 20 dollars if you call customer service to upgrade ESN.

They WILL let you do it for free on the website though. And your new phone will start working in less than 5 minutes.

Why so long for Sprint phones??

"Up to 2 hours" meaning if you're having any network problems it could take longer. Most ESN changes provision in under 2 minutes. If you tell someone their phone will work in 30 seconds and it takes 1 hour due to some network upgrades or something then that customer will be pissed. If you tell them it could take up to a couple hours and it's done in 30 seconds then that customer is happy.

Exactly. 😁

Most times when I activate a phone for a customer it is working by the time I hand them their receipt.

That is one of the easiest things to do in selling...

Give them an expectation that makes them somewhat sad, then exceed it.

Such as when I worked at Best Buy selling computers.

"I'll go check to see if we have that model, but we probably won't."

*Go back, grab the model, take it to customer*

"You're in luck! We did have one hiding back there! Here ya go!" 😁

Customer is happy...when he thought was going to be disappointed...

dosent sprint also reset your ability to get a rebate after what would be a 2 year plan if you do this. so say you could qualify for a 100.00 rebate and do esn change at 1 month before your 2 year mark.dont you have to wait another 18 months to get a rebate on a phone.

They don't charge you, per say, however, it will reset your upgrade timeline.

CORRECT. good point darth.

Now about used phones. Buyer beware!! If the phone you are buying is reported lost or stolen, or it was previously on an account that owes sprint money, you will not be able to activate the phone.

Not always true. I gave my Sprint VGA1000 away when i switched to Verizon.

I had a bill dispute with them and they overcharged me about 400 dollars twice so I just didnt pay them.

My friend had no prlblem activating the phone to use with her Sprint account.
