Tell them you are moving to Fairbanks, Alaska. Since they have no service there, they will terminate your contract for free. You can even take your number with you if you want.

Wouldn't you need to prove your moving there with a bill or something that shows the new address?

Nope not with Sprint. Most other companies will ask you for proof of residence though.

WOW! With Verizon you have to prove your moving with a gas bill or electric bill or something legit that proves you are moving out of their service area.

Yeah T-Mobile makes you do the same thing, but Sprint doesnt need to see anything.

I know Cingular doesn't care. It's not their fault you moved somewhere they don't cover, ETF applies.

Which is a better method. Should I go to my local Sprint store or should I just call a customer service rep.? I will try it later on today and tell everyone how it went 😳 ......

Must be taking dburks a while to "move to Alaska". I hope she took her computer with her so she can tell us how it all shook out.

THanks alot DELTA. I called cust. service and told them that I was moving in the next at the end of Feb. I had to confirm that I was going to be moving there, by telling them that I didnt have an exact address and that I would probally be living in a hotel untill i could find somewhere to live HAHA. After I told them my lil fib 😁 . I was then transferred to antoher person who wanted to drill me a little bit more and to confirm that i was actually going to be moving. Thanks to you, you saved me $300, and now i can get the 6700 on Verizon. The only reason why I wanted to switch is becaust my company gets a good discount, and also the phone just came out a couple of weeks ago on their network.

Thanks again...I owe u 1 😁

Be on the lookout. They still may apply the ETF and send an invoice for it. That invoice will then be sent to your old address in hopes that one of two things happen: 'Return to Sender' applied by PO or 'Forwarded to....'. Then you can mail that back to Sprint and the ETF will be waived...

Thanks for helping to keep my costs up. You had no absolute reason for switching except for your own personal issues. I left Cingular because the reception in my area went from almost great to terrible, and they had no idea how to fix it. I hope you don't sleep well at night while I work and extra hour each week to help pay for your breech of contract.
