Thinking of switching to sprint from T-mobile

Good evening, I'm in the Nashville, TN area, and am considering switching from T-mobile to sprint, and I wanted to get some feed back on the quality of service. (Both, the actual wireless service, and the customer service)

Also, can any one speak to the amount of fees that they see on their bill? I know many of the companies out there tend to nickel and dime you on the 'regulatory fees' and recovery charges and what not. I'm not exactly sure on the motive for these, and why they don't just end up on the rate plan to begin with. (but I digress...) The txt and data plans get you too on the family plans, because each line gets charged again, and it can add up pretty quick.

Also, how does the roaming work out when you step off the inters...

Well, actually, I'm in the same area and I switched from T-Mobile to Sprint.

I was employed with T-Mobile, and carried their service for about 2 years. This is actually my second go-around with Sprint, and so far so good.

I wasn't unhappy with T-Mobile service, but I never could get very good reception in my house, and that includes when I lived in Antioch, Donelson, and Priest Lake area. I bib a fair bit of traveling around the nation, and never had problems with it.

Why I switched to Sprint however: With my new job, a lot of my business contacts have Sprint, a lot of my family and friends do, too and so I can take full advantage of mobile-mobile minutes. Also, Sprint gets good reception inside my house even though it only shows...

Sprints rate plans rival T aintMobile pretty well. Sprint's customer service is widely regarded as not good, BUT keep in mind that they just bought out Nextel, so there are changes going on that will eventually be for the better, i would hope. Sprint is aware of the opinion of their customers, that customer service is lacking fiercely when you call with an issue. Best thing to do is, if you have a phone or vision issue, ask for technical dept. or vision dept. the 1st person you reach by *2 or 1-800-sprint1 is there mainly to take payments or make changes to your plan. If you receive a monthly discount (as you stated you would) immediately ask for the business dept. because the 1st rep answering can do little more than look at your acct. Sinc...

T-mobile isn't that bad, and has been rather good to me over the last few years. One of the things that I have really appreciated about them is that being on the 1900 Mhz band, I could consider phones from other carriers that were considered world phones, and phones from Europe as well. This has really appealed to my inner geek. However, the other part of my inner geek really likes the data services on Sprint. T-Mo's customer service has always been very friendly, but harder problems usually have to be dealt with a higher tier tech as well.

The downside for sprint with me is that I would have to buy two more phones, which gets me a lot of flack from my better half. And those phones would not be able to be transferred to another carri...

Uhhh.... 1900MHz won't get you European phones. GSM in Europe operates at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz while in the USA it's 800 MHz and 1900 MHz. What you need is a quand-band (or sometimes tri-band, but unsure with T-Mobile) for it to work here an there.

yeah, you are right about that. What I meant though was that most of those phones should work at the 1900 Mhz band. There are far fewer that work on the 850/800 band.
