Sprint and them not having any regard for long time customers? I've been with them for 7yrs or so still it's like squeezing water out of a stone to get any kind of good deals

I had been with Sprint for over 8 years. I used to think they should give me a break for being a long-term customer. I then was reminded, by users on this site, that very few businesses give breaks to long term customers. So, with that in mind, I started shopping around to see if I was getting the best deal out there. I learned I wasn't.

If you are serious about considering other options for phone carriers, you can always do some shopping around...

Thats a good suggestion. Do some research before you call. Just because you have had an account a long time does not mean you should keep it. Figure out what features are most important to you. If you are getting them at a fair price, what more do you expect? If not, maybe there is a better plan for you.

As far as being a "long time" customer, Try this. Next time you go to the grocery store, grab a loaf of bread, head up to the Customer Service desk, and ask what discount you get for shopping at that store for the last 10 years. Offer to show them your receipts.

Grocery stores have contracts nowadays?

Grocery stores charge activation fees when you walk in the door?

Grocery stores charge upgrade fees when you decide to use the express lanes?

Grocery stores charge extra fees with the sole purpose of recouping costs?

Customer loyalty is more powerful and important then many of the minions here realize.

That it is, that it is. Customer loyalty is important, but so is offering a competitive product. If enough people leave because of bad policies, then the company will change.

See above...actually not to walk in the door, but if I want to use their service, yes.

Not express lanes, but Sam's Club does have a 2nd teir level for business customers that can take advantage of other discounts through Sam's Club.

Any business that gives service away will not be in business long.

It has nothing to do with being charged for a service, but be charged for the right to even be charged for a service.

The Sam's Club example does not work.

Good sugestion. And remember, it doesn't matter if you've been with the customer for 20 years, you've paid your bill every month, but you are supposed to, so it really isn't anything special.

I pretty much will repeat what phortres said, do some research, then call up and ask for retention. Tell them you are thinking of cancelling, and they will be more than willing to try and keep you as a customer.

Tell that to Ron Popeil, I would be interested to know what response you get.

Customer loyalty is more important then grunts here realize.

Don't get me wrong...customer loyalty is important in any business...but truthfully...somebody that pays their bill every month isn't anybody special.

But it would be nice if there were special plans for people who have completed a contract or two.

Then again, Sprint does give 5 or 10% discounts on MRC for people who renew their agreements.

😎

I agree you should pay your bills on time and that it is not a special accomplishment.

Nowadays though, it's very common to rob Peter to pay Paul.

Well here is what happened recently. I ask about getting a new phone, and I was also a long time customer. I was quoted an insane price, so I just said...so new customers only gets a discount, I was told yes, sorry. So I just nicely said, ok just cancel my service. I would just move to another carrier to get a good price and deal. Then they wanted to talk about deals.... The end.
