Is there anyway to clear a phone's ESN?

you mean like spoofing it to think it's another esn? no.

1) Pay the overdue balance to clear it
2) Have the person who reported it lost/stolen take it to a Sprint store

They are extremely strict on this. There is no way around it; believe me, I have tried.

So you think it is possible if I do pay the past due amount? The funny thing is that the phone was never reported stolen. Come to find out that it is a demo phone, and the service is still on. But sprint says that I can't pay the amount and shut it off because the demo line is not under my name and I dont have a password for the account. Even the CD-ROM has a sticker on it that says "Promotional Use." When I bought the phone I was the one that set up the voice mail and password so I know it was never used before.
