Is there anyway to clear a phone's ESN?
Does anybody know how...or could possibly point me in the right direction?
...
you mean like spoofing it to think it's another esn? no.

1) Pay the overdue balance to clear it
2) Have the person who reported it lost/stolen take it to a Sprint store
They are extremely strict on this. There is no way around it; believe me, I have tried.

So you think it is possible if I do pay the past due amount? The funny thing is that the phone was never reported stolen. Come to find out that it is a demo phone, and the service is still on. But sprint says that I can't pay the amount and shut it off because the demo line is not under my name and I dont have a password for the account. Even the CD-ROM has a sticker on it that says "Promotional Use." When I bought the phone I was the one that set up the voice mail and password so I know it was never used before.
