Mail in Rebates

So I don't like the change on overlays. Mail in rebates do nothing but p*ss off people. They see one price, and then when you tell them that $50 of it is a mail in, they get an attitude. It's supposedly an "industry standard" but I thought we we're doing good with instant overlays. Who wants to pay $100 for an i530? That phone still has a greeen screen 🤣

All of our rebates are instant also, 150 off, then on SELECTED PHONES they get a 50 dollar main in if they wish to do so, most of them do not.

i worked for an agent that sold sprint until a month ago. we did ALL of our upgrade pricing after mail-in. example 319.99 for a blade then 150 mail-in. we were told only sprint corp stores could do upgrades instantly. then we got word that ALL sprint including corp will have to upgrade after mail-in.

i left that company so i didn't follow up on it.

is this true or not?

if so i can see alot of folks leaving.

Yeah, the way that Sprint corporate stores do it is for 24+ HLOF (handset life on file) customers, they get the $150.00 instant savings with a two year contract renewal and $36.00 upgrade fee. Any overlays that they are doing at the time (price matches, manufacturer rebates) are instant at POS as well. For customers who have had their HLOF 12-23 months (not quite ready for the 24+ HUP), they will get the $75.00 instant savings with the 2 year renewal and $36.00 upgrade fee. There are a few phones that change monthly or every other month that will get an ADDITIONAL $75.00 mail in rebate. But that is not on every phone. They are usually phones that are being discontinued or phones that are not selling so well or phones that Sprint has a ton of...

Only the $150 is instant in corp stores in the Northeast. Any overlay is mail-in rebate. And that is on new activations or upgrades. I have a question to throw out there. Does it make sense to sign a new agreement when you only qualify for a $75 isnat rebate with 12-23 months of HLOF. $75(instant rebate) - $36 (upgrade fee) = $39. You are saving $39 for signing a new contract. I really hate that upgrade fee.

I think that the upgrade fee is bull poop! Everyone else is doing it now, too (jumped on the bandwagon to rape customers). Every wireless provider has something for cusotmers who do not qualify for the full discount. I think that it may be foolish for a customer to renew their agreement if all that they want is something a little updated on the phone (e.g. same type of phone, just smaller or their phone isn't working the way that they want it to). For people like that, I would suggest paying $15.00 for a phone book print off, adding the service and repair, and then going back into the store a couple of weeks later and get the phone replaced under the in-store warranty. There is always a possibility that the phone will be a slight upgrade fro...
