If you sign a new two year contract on a current plan, then your are entitled to a $150 discount off the purchase of any phone.

If he only completed one year of his two year contract he only qualifies for a $75 off Retail price not 150. thats only if he completed 23months with that paticular phone. WWW.Sprintrebates.com You can go there and check what you qualify for

To add to the above, this is based on the aged life of the phone, not your contract terms.. you could be on your 2nd 2yr contract, upgraded your phone last month and not be eligible for the $75 or $150, but correct... see the sprint.com website for terms and conditions

If you have had your phone for over 12 months you are entitled to a $75 instant rebate off the price of a phone with a new 2 yr agreement. However you will be charged a $36 upgrade fee on your next bill if you do take advantage of the instant rebate. If you just pay full price for the phone, you will not be required to sign a new agreement and you will NOT be charged the $36 upgrade fee. So basically do the math. You can sign a new two yr agreement and save $39 ($75 instant rebate minus $36 upgrade fee) or pay full price and not lock yourself in for another two years.

YOU FORGOT A VERY IMPORTANT STEP!! IF YOU JUST BUY THE PHONE WITHOUT SIGNING A NEW AGREEMENT, YOUR REBATE WILL START OVER BCUZ OF...

What is your point? You will start over your handset life either way, rebate or no rebate. My point is that it is not worth signing a new two year agreement just to save $39. If purchase the phone at full price then contact retention when you agreement is over a few months later. They will throw a bunch of credits and sometimes even phones (depending on your value)at you to stay with them.

My Point is that...the Customer MUST be aware that they are waiving their rebate to avoid signing another 2 year agreement. Cuz if they aren't and they find out elsewhere.... You don't want them coming back to you and causing a big scene!! Do you?? Imagine, you are activating 2 New Lines, and here comes Joe Schomo pissed off, and starts a big ol' scene over the fact that you didn't tell him that he's giving up his rebate so he wouldn't sign another contract...and as a result, your 2 Liner walks away cuz they feel they can't trust you..Now what?? TRUST ME I've seen it happen to a rep before, and it was awful...

Sprint phone rebates are not dependent on the length of your contract... especially if you have upgraded your current phone at anytime during the 2 year period. If not, for NOW there is still the 12, 18month policy of $75, $150 credit towards the purchase of a new phone... please refer to the sprint.com phone rebate policy. IF your contract has expired and you have not upgraded your phone at anytime. You have the option of closing your account and restarting with a new number and discounted phone OR, you can upgrade your phone based on the 18mon $150 policy that would be your default...

To add to the above:

You're rebate is NOT dependent on the life of the contract, it's dependent on how long the handset has been active. IF AT ANYTIME YOU UPGRADED, OR SWITCHED THE HANDSET BECAUSE YOURS "DOESN'T WORK, OR THE SCREEN GOT BUSTED, OR YOU GOT MAD AT YOUR GIRL/MAN AND THREW IT AGAINST A WALL, OR IT FELL OUT THE WINDOW WHILE YOU ARE ON TE FREEWAY." So, its not always when you buy a better phone and change it. You could've had a mishap, or an accident but you couldn't wait the 3 to 4 days for Asurion to send you a replacement, so you grabbed your old Nokia 6160 for the mean time...POOF!! there went your rebate.

while that is correct in the technical sense, I get that fixed for customers all the time, it usually isnt too big of an issue to work around.

But that policy is total BS.. the rebate should be based on when you got the DISCOUNT ON A PHONE... PERIOD.. but it is not.

It is 24 months now for the full $150 not 18 months.
