I thought that I had seen it all...

I left Sprint over two years ago because of their poor billing and horrible customer service. I told my father not to change to Sprint but he wouldn't listen. On this past month's bill, they had overcharged him $100. When he called they said "Yes sir. You're right. We overcharged you. We'll be happy to credit you the $100." He's thinking "great. they fixed their mistake. The CSR goes on to say "however in order to credit you the money that we overcharged you we will have to extend your contract by six months"

I don't even have the words.

Sprint...argh....whatever!

Theres so much more to this story.

Everyone says "I was overcharged".. when what they mean to say is, "I went over my minutes, or I used Vision, or Text".

Explain more, Im sure someone can explain.

No there's not much more to this story.

They charged him for equipment that he did not buy. A pure error. Sprint and other carriers do actually make mistakes though they rarely admit to them. We're not teenagers that can't track our minutes and purchase the plan that suites us.

They admitted that it was an error. What do you want? An affidavit from the CEO?

Between my wife and I, we have had 3 different carriers in ten years. She had T-Mobile, Sprint and Cingular and I had Sprint and Cingular. By far Sprint has been the worst not only in customer support but dropped calls and equipment also.

The only reason we stayed with Sprint for as long as we did (8 years) was because I tend to be very loyal once I am with a company until t...

dropped calls happen with sprint, because of the way that the calls work. it happens more if you are moving. deal with it or go to a GSM company. now that you have, stop complaining. and as far as renewing your contract to give a credit, tell them "Bull sh!t, you will not renew my contract." i work for sprint and even if the computer accidentally did that, they can just put a note on the acct that says to honor the original contract satisfaction date.

What, GSM guarantees no dropped calls? You must be joking; really, really joking.

Hmmmmm...Not anywhere in the US I've used GSM (T-Mobile), CDMA (Verizon) and iDEN (Nextel). That would be California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Connecticut, Massachussettes. What real-world data do you have? Both Verizon and Nextel hold calls much better than T-Mobile's GSM network in all of those states.
In your previous post you wrote

Most people would interpret your statement as an endorsement of GSM over CDMA; you seem to be contradicting yourself.

Dude! It was just an explanation of why I left. I know that you have to work somewhere and with your people skill Sprint is probably a good place but why would you want me to stop complaining about it? This message board is full of past experiences bad and good. That's what it's for so that people can share their experiences and thoughts. 🤨

it just gets old when people create new threads just to complain.

and as for your attack on me personally, i take care of every decent person i talk to. i know not everyone does, but until you talk to me, screw off. and if you do get someone who is rude or stupid, hang up and call back. we are not all incompetent. i promise.

I think the best example of that I have ever seen went something like this.

Cust- Hi, I think I have been over charged and my phone was turned off.
Rep- Yes it looks like you were.
C-Can you turn my phone back on
R- Not till you make a payment to get your account below the spending limit
C- But it was an error
R- That will be fixed on your next bill
C- I want to cancle my account then.
R- Sorry you have to pay your accout below the spending limit before you can do that.
