Ringing length...

i just called up sprint because i wanted my phone to ring longer since somethimes i am unable to get to it. The first guy i got tryed and tryed and said he couldnt find where to add seconds onto a ringer, so he transfered me to some guy who acted like i was a pain in his ass and said "no there is a default ring length for all phones" ...
well this question goes out to all sprint techies, is that true? and if so why did the first guy i talked to say "its usually in the same spot (meaning in their user guide he said) for all the phone models but he couldnt find it, so obviosuly they must be able to do it if he sent me to another tech guy to do it.

also, when i had nextel i added ring seconds onto my account before...

I dont work for sprint, i work for verizon wireless. but we can update the ring lengh in the switch(system). and I would think sprint would have the same ability.. but who knows

im sorry.

there is no way to add to the amount of time your incoming calls ring, it is 23 seconds.

I have a question for u , how come sometimes when ppl call, it'll ring 4 times on their end but only rings once on my end? Its aggrivatin b/c my phone goes off for only 4 secs and im not always by my phone tho i hear it.

that happens alot if you are not getting a good signal, or if you just travelled to a new part of town and have not made an outgoing call yet. it is because the network takes time to find you. when you make a call in a new area, the network updates your location. then the incoming calls will find you sooner.

well this still happens to me in my house and ive had sprint for almost a year 😳 (accept on the callers end it rings about 2 times before it even starts rinning on me end)

Yea that is, and now that u mention it, that only happens when i go to work and back, and my job is in another town.

Try making sure your phone is up to date. PRL and Software. What phone do you have?

The a920, and i just recently updated the prl, but its not happening as much as it was. Im between 2 towers, one has evdo and the other doesnt, the 1 with evdo is further away but my phone tries to pick it up anyway and if it gets to weak itll switch to the one w/o evdo.
