I am not do for a phone rebate for quite some time. I want to buy the Katana and it is very expensive, however, on ebay I can save some dollars. I have been a committed Sprint customer for six years and wanted to know if anyone can direct me who to speak with at Sprint besides a customer service supervisor where they may make an exception and give me the $150.00 rebate without the 2 year renewal sign up. I have had many problems wiith Samsung phones over the past six years and wanted to go with Sanyo. I am asking for this $150.00 off for two reasons-
1-a loyal customer for six years
2- a history of phone problems with the Samsung brand

All responses are appreciated.

Thanks

First question is, how long has it been since you changed phones? If it has been less than 18 months, even if you did not get a rebate, you will have a hard time getting a rebate.

Second, what kind of phone do you have now?
I don't know exactly what would be the predecessor to the Katana

Third, how much are you willing to bother a local store? If you go every day, or even every week, complaining of problems they will eventually change out your phone.

Ebay may be the way to go, if you can save money, why not use the service. If it is a clear phone then there is no harm in doing so, you can still insure it so all is well

...and fourth, don't bother bringing up loyal customer for 'x' years. I tried doing that w/ my cable & electric co and that didn't get me anywhere... j/k, I would never do that...

Be careful, heard the Katana really isn't made that well...

Exactly, the only part of the loyal customer that they find pertinent is "how long have you had that phone?"

Call *2 on your phone. Tell Claire "Cancel Service" it will send you to retention. Ask they for the deal you want on the new phone.

If you have been a customer for x years why is there a problem resigning back up? I'm not asking in a mean way, just asking for the sake of asking.

If you aren't eligible for an upgrade because your phone doesn't qualify, we can sometimes override the upgrade policy depending on certain instances. But in any case, the rebates are only valid with a new agreement.

I understand that you have had many problems with Samsung phones, but have you ever tried getting into a different model phone? Depending on how many of the same model phone you've had with recurring problems, a service center may be able to get you into a different model.

I don't know your situation, but I could look into your account for you if you wanted and see ...

I appreciate your reply. The reason I don't want to renew until my contract is over is because I find that when my contract expires I get more perks to renew plus the rebate. Any help would be most appreciated.

Speak to the retention dept. and express your point to them.
