Welcome back nextel,
With regards to Sprint well there seems to be still a lot of problems in the market with the products and that will hurt the quarterly numbers as evidence in the 2nd quarter report. Wholesale business was down and same with postpaid while prepaid still remains strong. Whenever there is confusion in the market place unfortunately, these things tend to happen. Sprint obviously has great products but it is being hindered with the problems as I just mentioned.
There are a few problems going on now;
1. image
2. brands
3. network integration
4. partners
As soon as the problems go away then they will do very well. Mergers such as this don’t...

why would image be a problem its not like you have changed your name people are still familiar with these two companies.
what integration do you speak of?
you say mergers don't become successful overnight, This is correct but this quarter was just a train wreck . I would be very surprised if sprextel makes any sort of rebound anytime soon. Cingular didn't even start off this bad and turned one company into one. imo I think the ceo's are just getting way over their heads try to manage these two companies and are to make moves too fast if they would slow down and take a look at the whole picture to make improvments. But we shall only time will tell.
The integration with the billing systems, call centers, the cell sites and other things such as the backbone. When you have problems in those areas, you might have some bad quarters.
This quarter wasn’t that great but they actually had net income, not many companies can say that when they have merged.
There is a difference between Cingular and Sprint and mainly is that it has to deal with 2 separate networks and that is a problem especially with confusion.
Companies sometimes have horrible quarters and then they rebound. That is the life of being...

Cingular didn't? Hmmm, if I recall correctly, Cingular had to manage two TDMA networks, two GSM networks, two analog networks, two GPRS/EDGE networks, and a UMTS network. I'm pretty sure that adds up to be a whole lot more than two seperate networks.
Now tell me, logically, who should have had the more difficult time merging? 🙄
The best part of it all, Nextel18, is that you assured us all that Sprint's acquisition of Nextel would be flawless (despite the technology difference). If I cared that much, I would dig the posts up...

Verizon will roll out Rev A over a Quality network with quality customer service. Verizon is also the exclusive seller of quite possibly the most popular phone worldwide...the Chocolate. Once Verizon rolls out it's program to allow customers to upgrade every year, and begins prorating etfs...customer loyalty will be at an even greater high than it is now.
In a nutshell, Sprextel is in big trouble...and it's going to get worse.
And lastly, the Chocolate by LG is not the most popular phone worldwide. For what its worth, that slot has been filled by the Motorola Razr unfortunately....

Sprint Nextel’s moves are nothing new, having been mastered by magicians since the beginning of time. Make a commotion over here to distract the viewer from what is happening over there. Brilliant!
Unfortunately, if Sprint Nextel is unable to keep investors distracted from its operational ills, the carrier’s management might not be around long e...

Actually the RAZR is the most popular phone
Compare Sprint’s data arpu to Verizon’s data arpu and you will find that Sprint destroys them. Also, compare Sprint’s Power Vision users to Verizon’s EV-DO users and you will find that Sprint has more customers on its Power Vision than Verizon’s EV-DO network and Verizon launched theirs a while ago. More importantly, Verizon is too ashamed to provide the numbers of those customers while Sprint reported their Power Vision numbers in presentations.
Sprint will also roll out REV A with Qchat, in the 2008 time frame, but more importantly they have that deal with the cable companies, signed many deals with content players...
