LG 535 - Charger Port Issue - Need Rep Advice/Help

Hi.

I have a LG 535.

I just noticed that the charger port at the bottom of the phone appears to be slightly diagonal (receded inside body of phone) and sometimes will have to plug in my charger multiple times for it begin charging.

What I would like to know is, should I even bother trying to take it to my local Sprint Corporate store? I have insurance, and ultimately would like them to remove the backing (which I would do if I had the tools) and reposition the charging port.

Would they be able to do this or would they have to send it off? I hope not, the problem is simple and it would be absurd if they did or encouraged me to file a claim.

Thanks.

well, corp stores are supposed to be changing policies on this now. so if you have insurance, you take it to a store that has a tech, and they will fix it there. i dont remember if there is a charge or what it would be exactly, but it would be small. $15 maybe. so yea, that is worth a try. or you could always go get the tools to do it.

What kind of tools would I need?

I see some small screws on the back, but one appears to be directly under the antenna tube.

Other then a small screwdriver, would I need anything else?

that model is not considered a "repair model" so basically what would happen is if you have ESRP not insurnce they would make sure there was no liquid damage or excessive abuse then just order you a replacement prob is i dont belive that model is avilable to order so you would get another model i think its a sanyo 5600 but im not positive as i havent had one of those 535s come in for some time

I'm not sure what ESRP is, but I do have insurance.

I'm just thinking...I've spent some money on accessories, and will not be very happy if I need to pay a $50 deductable on a $.10 repair. Not to mention getting a different phone that my accessories will be useless for.

It should just be a simple repair is all.
