Hello..
My cousin and I are going to join Sprint this friday...contacts up with T-Mobile and it's time for a change. Any thoughts abuot what phone to get? I was thinking about the Fusic but I'm not so sure....
Also, what's the deal with Roaming? I really don't understand that....if Roaming is free, why even saying anything about it..? My aunt has sprint and when she's in her house, which gets really bad cell service, her phone will switch over to Digital Roaming...so what does that mean?
Any suggestions? I hope we're choosing the right carrier...tell me if i'm not đ
Thanks
...
The fusic is a good phone, it has a lot of features on it, if you don't want to spend the money to use the features then you can get just as good a phone for less money. I like Sanyo personally. The deal w/ roaming is it is free but because the phone will pop up "Digital Roam" we inform people first that it's included so they don't have to worry about any extra charge. Your aunt can change the settings on her phone so it won't switch to roam if she doesn't want to....if she doesn't get Sprint signal, however, she would want to leave it on Automatic. Service inside a building is not guaranteed w/ any carrier, so it's really just a hit or miss thing. Hope this helps a little.

GO VERIZON WIRELESS đ
...
moemoe26...why don't you listen to your own advice...go back to the Verizon Wireless forum.
They say "no roaming" because we haven't always offered roaming included plans, and they just want people to know that we do. When you are in an area that isn't covered by Sprint, it will say roaming...which just means you're running off another company's tower that has one in the area. It will always inform you of this, just because like I said, not everyone is on a roaming included plan.
The Fusic is an amazing phone and they just put in on sale now for 179.99 with a 30.00 mail in rebate. And for all the features that phone has, its most definitely worth it.
I think for you it would be worth giving us a shot, just remember you have ...

im a big fan of the samsung a920 rather than the fusic close to the same features except the samsung feels more solid. the fusic has a built in fm modulator which is cool but to me i think i would end up breaking the phone
...
I thought about getting the a920, but now I'm not sure which one...they're both good phones, but the fusic is kinda flimsy, and not as sturdy as the Samsung.
Also...can I actaully put songs from my computer on to either of these phones? (a920 and Fusic?) In my past expirecnes I've bought a phone that had an MP3 player freature...and it wouldn't even work.
Thanks again đ

you should be able to the a920 has a micro sd card which you should be able to load the music on as long as its in the right format. my coworker blazerman has he 920 and he loves it. i've never been a fan of lg phones
...
Now how would I go about putting any music...on any phone...? Generally? All I use is iTunes and Windows Media Player...
Help?

Fuse is a good phone from what i have seen and been told( i have friends who are reps and managers at the corp sprint stores) and so is most sanyos. as far as the roamings if your phone is on sprint only it won't roam and if it isn't then it will roam and pick up the strongest signal. now mind you that means if your on a call with a sprint signal and an other carrier signal is stronger it will drop your call. it isn't the network but what your phone is reading. only take it off if your not in a sprint area. doesn't mean if your not in a sprint area your phone will work work of of vzw or all tel unless they have an agreement there.
AND 1.BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING JENNYBOO ITS CALLED AN OPEN FORUM MEANING I CAN GO ANYWHERE
2. I WORKED FOR SP...

Your best bet is to go with verizon wireless. They have an excellent roaming policy. In the Sprint contract it states that they have the right to cancel your service if you have used 51% of your minutes when roaming for three months. Now, here is the good stuff. Verizon Wireless does not do that. I used to have cingular, but when I found out that I was roaming alot, I did some research and found that Verizon does not cancel you for excessive roaming. So Hell, roam all you want to and don't worry with Verizon. Plus, If you go to sprint coverage map and take away all the digital roaming and analog roaming, then you would see what sprint coverage you really have. Trust me , I have tried Sprint PCS. Just to give you an example , yo...

Any carrier has the roaming stipulation in their agreements. Why would they want you as a customer when you're using other people services more than their own? It's costing money to keep you as a customer. VZW will not be any better with roaming than Sprint.
...
it's very possible Verizon gets better roaming deals from their partners
...
regardless. the guy said he wanted to go with Sprint. simply answer his questions, and dont post your personal preferences in place of giving him the information he asked for.
A920 vs Fusic- both are good phones, but most customers seem to prefer the Fusic. As far as the MP3 issue, any MP3's should be able to be played. If youre having issues with it (as i saw posted on another post concerning an issue like this), it may be that the sample rate is too low. To fix this would require a specific type of program that would let you speed up the sample rate.
About the "roaming" issue... There is a clause in the Sprint agreement that staes we have the right to cancel your service if your roaming useage is higher than 50% of your overall useag...

That bandersnatchman is hating on every forum. Don't pay him any attention.
...
Icyhot, its hatin not hating. Everyone is intitled to give there 2 cents, just like you are. I don't care if you went to the verizon form and started HATIN on them. You have the right to, just like everyone one else.
Grow Up
...
You're telling ME to grow up. How odd, considering I never go into another forum unless I belong to that carrier or phone...or unless I am planning on switching to that carrier or phone. You on the other hand go around talking about your beloved Verizon and trying to stir up things. Now you tell me...who needs to grow up??
And yes I've had Verizon before. That is the MAIN reason I switched to Cingular over 10 years ago.

They had Cingular 10 years ago? đ˛
...
Yes it formed in 96 I believe. I was with Bellsouth Mobility at the time so they gave me and my wife new phones and changed the name. I was with Verizon prior to Bellsouth Mobility.
...
I am in the military and have had every cell company I think known to the US. From the old bellsouth DCS to powertell to verizon, alltell, US Cell, Celluar one, Tmobile/voicestream, Cingular and sprint. All in a spand of 10 yrs. I hate sprint as a company however I have had them for the last 5 yrs from cell service and you can't beat them. I don't like them however I love their service. And all the roaming thing. I have 2000 min a month and I used 1800 one time when I was training were sprint had no service. They never said I word about it.
...
Powertel evolved into Voicestream, which evolved into T-Mobile. I spent 11 years in the Military. I've been out 11 years. I would have been retired 2 years ago, at the age of 38.
...
voicestream started in Hawaii in 1995. I was stationed there when they did. Powertell was bought by voicestream whic in turn was bought by tmobile. It deosn't change the fact of what I am saying I have tried all cell phone compianies and none come close to Sprint. Alltell has good coverage however sprint has a roaming agrement with them so you will get coverage in over 95% of the country.
...
Yeah your right, that would be the only thing that I might even consider switching to sprint for would be for unlimited text.

Just wait for the new A900m.

Yea but no Memory Card âšī¸

Why would someone choose the Fusic over the a920? I'm asking because I am trying to choose between the 2 phones and need some professional advice.
đ

I myself carry the Samsung A920 as the LG LX550(Fusic) had not come out when I purchased my A920. The major difference between the Fusic and the Samsung A920 is the fact the Fusic had the additional feature of being able to transmit your MP3s to an FM radio station(up to 10 feet). The Fusic also comes with a 64 MB MicroSC card whereas the A920 comes prepackaged with a 32 MB one. Plus the Fusic has an iPodesque look to it and includes 4 interchangeable colored face plates.
The standard battery on my Samsung A920 actually lasts about 3-4 days on stand by or up to 3 hours of digital talk time. Like I said, if the LG LX550(Fusic) was an option back when I bought my A920, I'd gone with it. Think of it this way. It's basically 6 of 1 or half a do...

My advice about the phone: ask the store personnel what advice they have. They're familiar with your area and have heard from other customers about what phones work well and what phones have problems in the area.
As for roaming, the newer plans include roaming but a lot of the older plans did not. It's an added feature that a lot of people like, especially if they were on an older Free & Clear plan that did not include roaming. The 'digital roam' just means that the call is being picked up on another carrier's tower - nothing to worry about if roaming is included in the plan. Just leave the phone's roaming options to 'automatic' and you'll be fine.
