Vision Services with Digial Roam (ALLTEL)
I ported over form nextel on 8/16/6 and I am on my second phone. Original phone quit working after 4 days of having it. Took it in to the Sprint store and they replaced it on the spot. Just last week the vision services stopped working when its on digital roam. When I digital roam its on the Alltel network which I always had vision services before. Sprint wants to ship me another phone. How can a new phone make the vision services work when the other line on my account is also a Katana phone and tech support and myself compared all the setting and versions of software on the phones and they were the same. We tried a reset of the phone, browser, removed and added vision service on my line and still no go, but the vision services on my wif...

my imediate respince would be that your prl is out of date. did they make sure you have prl 100033?
did they put you in the exact same model? do you and your wife have the same phone? not all the phones have the option for roaming data.
or it could just simply be that for some reason after the switch alltell was unable to authinitcate your data services. possably a referb might fix the device.

We did a PRL Update and Im up to version 10035. The version before it was a 10034. Im not sure which version my wife is since Im at work.
They did give me the Katana and my wife has the Katana also just hers is the blue one.
I should have the new phone today or tomorrow and will give it a try then. Im going to stop over at the Sprint store here in a bit and see if there phones that are on display there work in digital roam and then have there technician take a look at it.

Your Sprint phone should not access the Sprint web while on Alltel's network. Alltel is not providing you w/ web service and therefore would not have access to Sprint's web. Same reason Air cards only work while on the Sprint network. It is a Sprint feature.

sometimes data roaming will work, and thats great. the problem is, if it doesnt work, there is nothing we can do about it, because you are not on our network.

They did end up getting it working. They shipped me a new phone and was still not able to acccess it on digital roam. They then esclated the trouble ticket and they worked with AllTel to resolve the issue. It was a problem on the Alltel side, so now everything works great!
