"Verizon has offered no timetable for their Revision A upgrade plans. The company is facing a longer timeline than Sprint due to the fact that more than 50% of its network consists of 800mhz towers already feeling network strain (compared to Sprint's full array of 1900mhz towers)."

Take THAT vzw peeps. 😈

You Sprint people make me laugh... Here's the real EVDO/network facts: Verizon Wireless has the best EVDO network period. When Verizon Wireless decides to make a metro EVDO they cover the city, the burbs, and even rural areas around it. Sprint on the other hand only makes little piss puddles in metro areas and leaves the surrounding area on their older network. Yes, as of now Sprint has more EVDO markets, but hello... have you looked at the future EVDO coverage map for Verizon Wireless??? It's going to kick the **** out of Sprint. Oh, and by the way, don't even go there with the 800Mhz VS 1900Mhz thing... 800 is far better because of one thing, COVERAGE. Why do companies put up cell towers? To provide COVERAGE. 800 penetrates into...

by the time verison finally compleats there evdo netowrk sprint will alrady have 4g nation wide. nice try but bottom line verizon will always be playing catch upto sprint.

oh by the way sprint will have its 4g network up before for verizon had the licensing to even build equipment. and lets not talk about evdo rev a which verison has none of

I always love the classic posts from people that don't seem to know how to spell VERIZON. No, it's not "verison", it's V.E.R.I.Z.O.N.

OK, now that that's out of the way, here's the response to the pointless point. The reason Verizon Wireless isn't on top revision A is because they won't need it here in the near future. Sorry buddy but Sprint loses this battle. Have you ever heard of MediaFlo? Google it and find out all the little details. MediaFlo is basically cable TV for cell phones. It has 50+ streaming live channels including some music channels. As soon as this comes out (it's at the breaking point) Sprint TV really won't have a chance. And who is going to care about revision A or revision B or C or D or E or F when MediaF...

The better question is why do you spout off stuff that is BS. Do you not read RCR before you go off on Verizon's exclusivity? Sprint is testing Mediaflo and will likely be a launch partner. I don't participate in these things, but someone had to say it!

this poor poor guy is so closed minded. why rev a? faster upload speeds and lower latency. though i doubt he can understand that. rev o does not support any real time applications such as gameing or voip. that is why rev a is better. this guy is so closed minded he only thinks evdo is for tv which is why he just keeps ranting media flo which by the way sprint is already concludeing firld trials and will more then likely release 1 quarter. verizon has yet to do a field trial which means if verizon does beat sprint to market with mediaflo, it will be an untested unreliable system. just like there ptt! 🤣

really please don't even get me started on ptt. it is well documented verizon has the most pathetic ptt in the industry. in fact do...

LOL! Thanks for the personal rating. Yes, rev a isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong. Verizon is working on upgrading their biggest metros and then to the little citys with it. But Verizon does leave bigger foot prints of EVDO for a metro areas than sprint does. Sprint only upgrades the towers in city limits to EVDO, anyone outside the ghetto doesn't get it. Verizon on the other hand usually (like 99% of the time) does the metro, the burbs and in some situations rural. Verizon also has a better EVDO print for major interstate highways than sprint.

Answer me this than; why is Verizon too ashamed to publicly say their DO service while during presentations Sprint releases them? In addition, if you look at when the two companies released their service why is Sprint outperforming them if Verizon has a “better footprint” according to you?

hey buddy, nice to see verizon hired you to fight their battle.
heres a lesson for you buddy, after working at RS and having Verizon, and knowing everything on verizon and sprint. sprint has more benifits then verizon.
- 800mhz is only more coverage, but limits your phones calls and data on that same tower, 1900mhz is SLIGHTLY less coverage, but more towers is used to improve clarity on calls, and has more useage on 1 tower then verizon does.
- as far as evdo coverage, dont go based on coverage maps because verizon likes to exagerate on this. sprint has more markets in evdo then verizon and cingular. case proven-http://www.evdoforums.com/thread1235.h tml
also because of 1900mhz, we has alittle more speed too. with sprint, its also unli...

Looks like the posters above me already outlined most of what I said, but I would just like to add that my EVDO works just fine everywhere I have visited including many rural areas. Not to mention it's nearly 100 KB/s faster than Verizon's EVDO.

HMMM. Doesn't tv rely on data to get a picture? Its like the internet at home. You want to watch a streaming movie. Lets see dail up or broadband? You make no sense. If you can watch TV on a phone that means data is pretty damn quick.

WOW! MediaFlow was adapted by VZW and Sprint. Sprint is testing their "VUE" service in two markets right now. Sprint has also teamed up with Samsung, Clear Channel, Time Warner for this service. Who needs to subscribe to VZW's or Sprint's extra features when you can stream tv, movies, music, pictures, and dvr from you tv to your cpu, to your S-P-R-I-N-T phone via orb.com. This is something that Sprint users have been doing for years already. Too bad VZV's restricts their customers. It;s a pretty cool feature. I currently have 4920 songs I can listen to, watch any movie I have from my cpu, and I'm able to watch HBO, Showtime, local channels, etc via orb.com. Guess what, it's free. All you need is a multi-media phone from Sprint (doesn't requi...

This is pointless. Sprint has always been ahead of the game in data services. I have been a customer of all four major either thru business or personal. Verizon is a great company and so is sprint, but in this evdo disscussion Sprint is better for now and will more than likely maintain this position. Sprint puts more money into there data services than any other company out there. Sprint has been leading the way with data for years now. I read in this forum that sprint is going to be the first to bring in the 4g network on top of that so you all know that sprint and comcast have signed a agreement to work together in the near future for data services. Verizon maybe a better coveage network for there voice services but for now I DO NOT see th...
