SPRINT31907

I've been a Sprint reps for several months now, and before that I ALWAYS read about Sprint and thier new phones, never really got "behind the scenes." And now i want to get into all the "lingo" and updates on technology and stuff. So my question is, I hear all this talk about "spectrum" and "WIMAX" and "3G" "4G" etc etc...what is the all that...the differences? What is the difference between Sprints Spectrum, and thier coverage area...and other cell phone companies buying spectrum...If you have a site that you could post that i could read on all that, it would be great, i want to have more knowledge about Sprint and thier technology and other companies so I may better assist my customers.

all i know is wimax is the 4th generation of cellular technology that sprint is persuing, the 3g standards are CDMA1xEV-DO or just ev-do, and the 3gsm standard, UMTS and HSDPA(upgrade from UMTS)

i cant really elaborate on the spectrum even though i have an idea, i thinks its the range of frequencies that a cellco can broadcast, the more spectrum, the more towers and coverage area a cellco can deploy or sell, thats what i think
