Sprint PCS and Internet Access

I am currently a Cingular subscriber in a rural area. I have considered switching to Sprint, but according to their coverage map I am only in a PCS area, not Vision, etc. Can I access the internet on a capable phone even though this is just a PCS area? If so, would my speed be faster or slower than Edge with Cingular?

I thought Elvis was dead? Hahah. Since when does Elvis like cellular devices?

You could only use your voice service, and your internet would not work on either a pc-card device or a phone. Sorry.

nextel18,

are you saying vision will not work at ALL or with cetain carriers in select markets. My vision was working for about a month on digital roam in northern Michigan with AllTel. All of a sudden it quit, called tech support and took a while to get resolved but its back up and working on digital roam with alltel. Per the tech support rep I talked to said its NOT a guarantee that it will work, but it may.

Not trying to start a war with you. Im just curious as to what the truth really is. Works with some carriers in select markets, or I just have luck its working?

Thanks,
Nick

It all depends on who you are roaming off of. me and my cousin were just talking about the alltel thing. they made some sort of agreement to wear vision would work on alltel network. were i live it used to be if u roamed you could call and that was all. But recently it cahnged so i could text message ( Or SMS ) While i roam which is pretty cool. Hope this helps

Good question.

I was just saying if there is just PCS service you will not get any Vision services unless there is a roaming pact involved and Alltel and Sprint signed an EV-DO roaming deal so as long as you are roaming with Alltel you will get the Vision services. (in the markets where there are DO deals)
