For the techno geeks out there, what are you thought's on WiMax and how well it will be implemented by Sprint once they launch it?

Well, I have mentioned earlier that I think Mobile and Fixed Wimax will be great especially for Sprint since they are obviously very good at data as evident by how many customers they have on their Vision but more importantly Power Vision (EV-DO) network.

I think it will be very well implemented, but there obviously is a connection problem between actually getting customers IE gross adds and keeping them IE net adds, so they have to work on that.

I think the downside of Wimax is that it goes against their DO, but it will entice those users’ different options. It competes a bit against DO. There are many very good things about this technology from speed, capacity, bandwidth, products available and other things so it will be a great th...

I would agree with you on Sprint being ahead of the curve and on the ball with data services. Even before data was a truly desireable feature to have for the mainstream they offered the service. I think early on they had the knowledge that data would be something to focus on in the long run.

I spoke to a samsung rep yesterday and she spoke briefly about their focus on WiMax. She said they've done some initial testing in real world conditions and have reached optimal speeds in a car doing 80mph.
We shall see how this plays out along side other iterations of widely implemented 4G protocols.

Well, it is obvious to everyone who has access to forecasts and trends and also who just has common sense knows that voice ARPU is coming down and will start to bring some pressure as well as with voice net ads, so that will force data ARPU to increase by any means necessary. Sprint and other carriers are doing a good job at fixing the decline in Voice ARPU with the increase of Data ARPU.

Yea, I know about the Wimax testing from sources and they indicated it was v...
