"The data" is also full of misrepresentation and is outdated every single day.

1. Why on earth does Sprint feel the need to compare its EVDO to Cingular's EDGE, a technologically inferior network, as opposed to Cingular's HSDPA which is actually faster and "more powerful" than Sprint's EVDO?
2. Cingular has been putting their HSDPA network online in new markets every day for the past month across the US. That makes Sprint's coverage comparison claims constantly inaccurate.

Take it for what you will.

thank you, i bet no one can justify the 3g EVDO to 2.5G EDGE, unfair comparison, no wonder y sprints 3rd quarter numbers are in the toilet, most voice coverage my ass!

Look at page 15 of Cingular's 3Q report.

http://cingular.mediaroom.com/file.php/mr_cingular/s ... »

HSDPA currently is available in 115 cities (with populations of 100,000 or more).

Sprint's EVDO Rev 0 covers 5138 cities.

The third quarter ended on September 31st. The fourth quarter was announced as Cingular's target period to launch 3G in over 100 new markets across the country.

In the past month and these few days into November alone, they have already launched a large number of new markets, and continue to do so every day.

Again, the info you've provided is already outdated.

im sorry there is still no way to compare a slower 2.5g technology to a 3g technology, there is no justification at all just because sprint has evdo in more cities. how about comparing both of the 3g speeds. wait sprint cant do it, why because the speeds are about the same and there's no way to market off of it.

Depends on where you are. If you are out west or travel through rural areas sprint, verizon or alltel would be a better choice. Sprint has the most roaming agreements of all carriers which does come in useful in those isolated areas. Sprint doesn't have the network busy problem that cingular is having in many markets.
