What does the future hold for sprint?

I am currently a Sprint subscriber and am very happy with the service and the phone (Sanyo Katana), that I have. I am wondering with the merger with nextel and the very poor adds in the recent quarters, what does sprint do in the 4th quarter and next year.

In my view Sprint service works great so I don't understand why people are not getting voice service with them. I understand about data and prepaid that they are doing very well, but how long is that going to keep sprint afloat.

In final, Will the merger doom sprint or in a few years will they be bigger and better?

Net loss in subscriptions will carry on (well) into new year, what happens after that depends solely on SPCS and their ability to: market themselves better, concentrate on keeping what subs they do have, nipping this integration issue they're having* in the bud, and "hey, anyone remember those synergies they were talking about?"

* This is a side-note: what is going on w/ every Nextel subscriber jumping ship?
